Thank you. Can you say more please? I just picked it up at auction. I also had doubts but got the opinion of a friend and respected art collector who said it looked like Hitch. I agree it looks off, except maybe the Carrier, his mouth, and the awkward action body mechanics resemble Hitch.
I totally agree! Who cares about "curving the bullet"?! On that, also love how throughtout the film these guys can't hit anything when they spray a room with an automatic weapon....but they turn into Clint Barton when they curve the bullet. Hmmmmmm......
Thanks my friend! Jones's early work was fantastic and this page spoke to me because of the blood splatter. You don't see that very often.
Absolutely gorgeous! It's getting tougher and tougher to attain a Dragotta piece, and increasingly cost prohibitive. Congratulations on this stunner.
Grant Morrison? Did Warren Ellis NOT write this issue? So confused.
Which part of the page was used for the WSCCG? I never played so not at all familiar!
Well I'll be damned. Absolutely gorgeous! With the exception of a few Y covers, the art of this short story is emblematic of who Aron ultimately becomes as an artist. You could argue that, as an artist, he was never stagnant. In fact, he evolved with each book he pencilled. From his very early Marvel work on Cable (check out my page), then to Team 7, then to this exceptional work here. Given the scarcity of his comic work, acquiring a single page makes one part of an unique group. Congrats and thank you for sharing.
Thanks for the kind words. I've been waiting patiently for the right Cheung page for several years. Cheung pieces seem to range from gorgeous splashes and covers that are generally outside of my price range, OR very affordable interior pages that do not grab me or illicit an emotional response. This page was both relatively affordable, while also hitting my senses and emotions in all the right ways. Cheers!
I love the interchange between Stark and Namor, the two biggest egos in the Marvel universe. Stark tells Namor that he isn't a King "up here", then Namor then tries to murder him. Brilliant.
Hey thanks man. I love this page and I can feel Darrow through most of the two issues!
This is really gorgeous! Like you, I am a huge admirer of Sean's work and have several pages of his, although I've yet to be so lucky to have procured a commission. Congratulations to you.
Just following up on whether you're interested in selling this page. Are you?
That cape looks pissed off! Stunning! Congrats!
That is one helluva page right there. Very nice!
Authority issues 1-12 is one of my favorite runs in comics ever. I remember this page VERY WELL and couldn't believe Ellis let such an interesting character go so shortly after her creation. I also have a page from issue 12, but not this one. :) Speaking of which, are you selling this?
This is SO beautiful! I absolutely love everything Wiesenfeld has done and have lamented his departure from comics in 2002. I was incredibly blessed to have acquired a page from Deathblow/Wolverine this year after more than a decade of searching. Wiesenfeld is a true master.
Thanks for the kind remarks Eric. I completely agree. This is a gorgeous and impressive piece of art. I own several watercolor pieces although none of which are crafted as masterfully. Cheers.
