The best thing about this image, is that it’s not even Gunslinger. It’s Al Simmons “Spawn” disguised as Gunslinger. The splash page is the big reveal, because Gunslinger doesn’t have the ectoplasm to do what he’s doing. So, we have Al Simmons demonstrating his powers at work. Very true! Great moment indeed! I'll eventually be posting another page I have from this issue that is actually Gunslinger Spawn but he looks like Spawn. Really fun issue! |

This is them truly making a statement for their run with a defining image that they can be remembered for! Maybe they were given a heads up of when they would leave the title and started taking bigger shots. There were a few key images like this throughout (DPS of Gunslinger Spawn with wings, DPS of him in his new horse being two others), and the series as a whole felt like its sole reason for being was to get to the next "something cool" to see. It's still incredibly fun to flip through each of the issues for the art alone, but this issue stands out every time I revisit it. |

I like the art here, but I recognized it as DWJ's art. You've credited him and Rossmo as each doing ALL the art, which obviously isn't possible. So what exactly was the division of labor here? Btw, so great to always see how juiced up you get about this series! Yeah, so its a tricky one when it comes to crediting options here. That top left panel is ALL DWJ with Tash and his daugther. The rest of the page is ALL Riley. Now, as far as page layout I am assuming it was Riley first on these collaboration pages and then sent to Dan for him to draw his portion of the page (I feel like I head that in an interview somewhere, and that would make sense for Dan to then have all the completed pages including the ones that he drew solo). So its certainly possible Dan had to do some touch up work around Riley's lines here if there happend to be some overlapping, but I honestly can't tell. |

Duncan may not be Beta Ray Bill, Wolverine, nor Absolute Batman, but the tension, the strain, and the frustration boiling over are rendered in genuine emotion that DWJ presents so well. Most importantly, Duncan didn't carry the typical superhero tax! Probably the only way I'm able to buy a DWJ splash page in 2025! |

This was definitely one of those unexpected epic moments when I turned that page. I appreciate your kind words, it was truly at the top of my wishlist to own. Really funny how Clutch was concerned with being discovered, that he missed all that glowing stuff on the table to his left the whole time. Clutch with Hound is one of the coolest team ups going. I wonder if they'll have toy two packs. I think they will be the opening for Duke to meet with Optimus. Clutch is a much better mechanic than he is a spy, clearly. Agreed, I love their pairing! Can't wait to see in a few issues once Duke finishes his desert holiday and learns about Clutch's new buddy! |

Yeah, the story in that video of how this page came to land in your collection is great. Some might even say it was serendipitous! But I actually had forgotten that you had never posted it to your gallery before today! A great Engine City establishing shot in this wonderful, double half-splash leads right into an amazing shot of the Cyborg Superman, with Mongul as the extra bonus. A real coup to own, man, congrats again! I too forgot that I never posted it, meant to, but then just never did! Here we are, what 10 months later and I still can't believe how it all unfolded. Great story to go along with a momentous personal pick up! Can't beat that!! |

Triangle 26 of 1993! Big things happened in 1993 for Superman and the industry as a whole. Destruction of Coast City was a major event and catapulted Mongul to a whole new threat level of villainy. This story sure does get blamed for some negative aspects of the speculative 90's but at its core, this is a story that delivered & has stayed with me for 30+ years now. It was a great time to be a kid reading comics! |

Congrats on the highly nostalgic addition for you dude! Thanks Kavi! Just a well balanced page all around, great exterior shot of a very important location that speaks to the grand plan thes villains are cooking up, and a real Vader & Emperor walking side by side type moment! |

Carl, I relate to everything you said in your first paragraph SO much! That's exactly why I stopped posting Grummett pages from New Titans years ago. 😂 So true, I feel like by the time I've posted them here, i've talked about them in numerous videos by now, it's almost to where I just want to post the page on CAF with no commentary, but then again, I always love reading the why's behind the purchase, so i refuse to leave the description blank. When you see a page with crossover aspects done this well, it is a must get! Cobra Commander has harnessed the power of Energon and the question of Megatron looms large as he had not made his return yet. A great slow burn of the EU! Great start to No Nut Joe-vember! Haha the No Nut Joe-vember...thank you for not letting that one die! To your point though, yeah, such great foundational building blocks these stories and relationships have been! |

I loved this page and was sad that you beat me to it, but undoubtedly in the right collection.....for now.....(call me). That top panel is excellent!!! Congrats on another awesome page. Thanks so much!! No worries, I do still have a few I need to post yet! No shortage of Energon pieces in this collection! Agreed, these are my favorite versions of these properties since my youth, and its rare to have modern art tap so heavily into my nostalgic roots. These comics are for sure doing that. I can't wait to see what they do with the planned Energon Universe show!! |
