Love Tom's work. Excellent character choice, are you starting a new collection? I've always loved Lobo.... he's one of my other go-tos alongside Beta Ray Bill & Colossus (outside of the barbarian TMNT & Cerebus, obviously :D )

Alan Patrick Santos- Cerebus #3 cover recreation Owner: Joshua Even Comment posted on 6/21/2023

More advanced of a cover composition than Sim who was at the very early stages of his career when he did issue 3 in 1977. This is more in tune with the Frank Thorne work of the time who was at the height of sexy sword and sorcery fantasy art in the 70's. A very astute observations! Thank you again for your comments/ I always appreciate your thoughtfulness. |

Gerhard - Cerebus & barbarian TMNT Owner: Joshua Even Comment posted on 2/6/2023

Incredible commission, alway love looking at the details Ger puts into each piece. I'm not sure if you bid on the original TMNT/Cerebus cover on Heritage recently, I hope you did, and I hope you won it. That would be the jewel in the crown. As much as I would have LOVED to own that cover, the selling price was out of my league. |

I think it's a concious decision to leave it as is to make the impact of the figure bigger and let you imagine the rest. Yes, very dramatic choice to leave the background unfinished. Very cool. |

Yeah you should definitely do that! I am pretty sure they forgot to sign it. Sergio usually signs all sold commissions and drawings. I reached out to Sergio's daughter and she was mortified she had sent the piece out without his signature. It's on the way back to him to sign. Thanks to you for remind me to get that done! |

Really awesome commission! How come it isn't signed by Aragones? I'm not sure. When it was finished his daughter wanted to know if I wanted it personalized. I said that wasnt necessary, and it was sent out like that. I was kind of disappointed that it wasn't signed. I've been meaning to see if I can send it back and have it signed. |

Scott Hepburn- Cerebus & TMNT Owner: Joshua Even Comment posted on 8/26/2022

FANTASTIC Hepburn, Joshua! What a throwback - a beautiful tribute to TMNT #8 and (to show my age) the first "Indy" crossover I can remember. Having these two independently published juggernauts "canonically" in the same book made it feel like the world was opening up, and I remember feeling like all the potential of Indy comics was being laid out before us... A fun and stunning Hep commission, Joshua - what an awesome and unique choice! Congrats! We must have had very similar experiences in the 80s! TMNT #8 blew my mind. I was already reading TMNT, but I got introduced to Cerebus in that issue (became a huge fan... until later in the run) and the larger world of indy comics. As you can probably tell from the 'Savage Cerebus & TMNT' art collection, that notion of a ninja turtle (or ninja turtles) being trapped in Estarcion and becomming a barbarian mercenary, adventuring with Cerebus, has been burned in my brain! For me it's the best combo of all the stuff I loved as a kid. |
