I knew that it was Alcala right away, but was a bit surprised at first that it wasn't Buscema. Infantino did as good or better on this story. Great get! ![]() Thanks! |

Count Von Count & Count Chocula by Lewis Small Jr. Owner: Brian Lassiter Comment posted on 8/20/2021

Louis Small Jr. was one of the great Vampirella artists of the 90's, so it is fun to see him come around to drawing the Count of Sesame Street and Count Chocula. Speaking of Count Chocula, one time at SDCC, an art dealer who only drank wine and beers for months decided to have chocolate milk with count Chocula cereal for breakfast. He did not show up until noon. ![]() LOL. Louis lives (somewhat) near me. We share the same comic shop, and I commissioned him to do this one day while they were showcasing a bunch of local comic artists. My only requirements was that both characters had to be included. He was pretty eager to take on the project. |

Captain America by John Paul Leon Owner: Brian Lassiter Comment posted on 8/20/2021

Wow this is an amazing John Paul Leon, I love the weight and emotion that this conveys. The weight that Cap must carry all the time, is so well illustrated here. Great pick up, congrats! ![]() Thanks! And agreed. I love the design of Earth X Cap and how he's been worn down over time. And JPL depicts that feeling perfectly. I was fortunate enough to meet him at Heroes Con years ago and commission this. |

Unknown WW2 Comic pg 11- Airplane destroys Howitzer Owner: Brian Lassiter Comment posted on 8/20/2021

A really unusual, but very effective art combination. There is a real pop art feel to the aircraft and the explosion, along with great pacing and shot framing. Nice page! ![]() Thanks! I've long held a love for the looks of WW2 era fighter planes. So I was really happy to get this page. This one is definately going on the wall as soon as I can get a mat cut to fit it's non-standard size. |

Great hair and jaw on Superman that modernizes the character along with the very classic body builder physique. ![]() I was able to meet Ramona a few years back at HeroesCon. But I had already alocated all my funds for the weekend. So I wasn't able to pick up anything from her at the time. So I'm really happy to have this now. |

The huge background of Terminus! Cap, Panther, and a highlight soaring wings shot of Falcon on the attack! ![]() It was the Falcon image that definately pushed me to pick this one up. Cap and Panther in the scene are definately bonuses though. |

Feathery Alcala inks brings a natural look to all the hair and musculature in scenes of battle and death! ![]() Absolutely! I loved the Savage Sword mag as a kid. And while I was a little young to read this issue when it came out, I would start picking it up a few years later. It caught my attention because it was Carmine Infantino. But Alcala's inking certainly kicks it up a notch. Thanks for commenting! |
