Ah, so you're the one that got this half page! Way back when David sold these pages on his webstore, I wasn't fast enough to secure the full page and only got the top half. I always wondered if I would ever see the bottom half again.
Thank you for sharing it!
I totally agree. It's not easy to place so many characters in a cover and make it work. Even more difficult to make a rough sketch work with 11 characters thrown in and not make a mess. Our eyes can easily read the cover and distinguish who is who.
I remember this sketch and The Bride's one from when I was a teenager! It has been many years but I think this was some fan art that Cameron did for fun. Back then I stumbled upon the drawings when I was searching for Cameron's work after being announced as a guest at a local comics event. I really enjoyed them so much at the time that, when I attended the event, I asked him to draw The Bride. I just shared the sketch on my gallery.
Thank you for sharing, it brought back memories.
Thank you for your comment Marcus. The rough lines as you describe were due to the sketchbook I brought. I use grained paper (for charcoal and watercolor) because sometimes artists use watercolor or other materials that don't look great on thinner paper. In this case it gave a texture to Artgerms' lines that is not his usual style. At least compared to other sketches here on CAF.
Thank you, Nash! I updated the description with the story how I managed to get it. It was quite stressful submitting request after request and seeing them all go "on hold".
I hope to have a better scan soon. Still trying to work out how to scan the blue lines.
Ah, a Burnay piece. Congrats! He's such a fantastic artist, the detail he pours into his pieces is surreal.
What's the size of this one?
Oh, you're right. It has been a while since I last read Scalped. Thank you!
