Wright's appreciation of automobiles always shines through when he features them in the strip. Another nice example in your collection!

Thanks! I've said in the past I wish David Wright had done a strip series about a car dealership

Very cool set up telling us about large exotic animals, when they can just casually walk up to a horse as the gag.

Like an episode of The Red Green Show where he just describes the whole story happening outside the lodge but you never see any of that action

Usually Duck wrote for Don, but I can see by the even bigger nose sizes that this is more Edwing.

I bought it from someone who is selling a lot of Ducks work, it could be all him here, and it is on lined notebook paper so maybe just an idea he sketched out?

That hand lettering is so perfect!  It changes up the font when it needs to get more umph in the even numbered panels for the humor to work.

It helps the rhythm for sure, I just posted another daily where Mrs. Bungle gets angry and the letters in her word bubble are on fire

Great example of the times with culture and humor from a time we don't recognize anymore.  The topper is a fun and easy gag while the rest uses the typical heavy text approach.

I really like piles of text in the old strips. And yeah, these are like time capsules

Just the view of rolling fields lined by old stone walls is enough to get a detectorist itching to take a day off work

Really subjective question and there should be no wrong answers.  This should not be used any further in STEM tests.

Right! It reminds me of that Cheers episode where Cliff Calvin is on Jeopardy and is given the names of 3 people and his response is "Who are 3 people who have never been in my kitchen" and they wouldn't give it to him. Outrageous!

Romance thirties style!  In an age when print media was a dominant cultural force in the culture, these amusing gags served to reflect parts of life that bring a smile to the audience.

Brings a smile to me too! I imagine this is an apartment building since the milk man is entering and with so much milk. So are the couple just saying goodnight? Or maybe they have roommates and are looking for a little privacy. At any rate, I love the floor in this one!

Beautiful pencil stippling.  How it didn't smudge is amazing!  It takes a lot of meticulous skill and concentration!  The Stooges get great tributes over the years, but this one is up there in the area of dedication.

I like the word "stippling"! This drawing took a long time (to the dismay of the person who commissioned it) but all my drawings do. I remember working on this for about 5 hours a night for about two months. My drawing process is one I developed from copying old comics where I outline every shape that I see then go in and fill them in like a paint by number. So everything that looks like pencil dots was actually an outlined shape that I filled in after mapping out the entire image (I cant remember exactly but this is around 11"x17" roughly). I have a picture of this one before I filled it all in that I may post just to see the process.

glad you like it!

Did you get your stuff back?

I followed the guy for a block and he got to an intersection and I said "just give me back my 4-track" and he said "what's a 4-track?" And I said "it's in that bag, it's for recording music" (at the time it was the most expensive thing I owned) and he just handed me the bag, the other bag had my roommate's new computer scanner sticking out of it and later we found out it also had a pile of cds he had just sold on eBay. The only thing of mine in that bag was my electric razor which the guy had unplugged from its charger to take but he left the charger so he got about a shave and a half out of it. When the police came I walked through the house with them and, thinking no one was home because I had yelled and fought with the guy, opened my other roommates room and turned on the light only to see him completely naked wake up and say "hey man, what's up?" Then about an hour later (I was shaken and couldn't sleep) there were tiny rocks being tossed at my second story window (this is about 3:30-4am now) so I crawled over and peaked down and it was a friend of mine who was just walking by and saw my light on and waving and all "hey man!"
