Ha. Pretty much. I typically don't see that much Wally stuff being requested. That was the Flash I grew up with and my favorite member of Teen Titans (every once in awhile I'll request Bart).
Peter is my favorite Marvel character, and I like seeing artists' interpretation of his face. Most people just want Spider-Man with the mask, I don't...gives the artists something different to think about.
I also tend to request anime characters, but it can be rather difficult to find american artists in general who are not only familiar with series but okay with interpreting characters in their style.
Thanks! It was well worth splurging on the early access pass and waiting at his table on the first day of the con. He was the one I was hoping to get the most at this particular convention. I was also fairly lucky to be the first in line. Found out that on the last day, he only ended up doing two because of a surprise panel he hadn't known about and the two people who did get commissions asked for two characters each which effectively took 4 of his 6 slots for the day.
I was really hoping to get Patrick Gleason as well but he simply didn't think he'd have time to do anything in the sketchbook. Glad I got to scratch Mr. Ramos off the list though...now for the next white whale...Olivier Coipel.
Thanks! He really is a watercolor master. Actually found out when getting this commission that he doesn't like drawing Spider-Man because of the webbing on the suit. He made a deal with me that he would draw Spider-Man as long as he got to pick the suit...which I agreed to in a heartbeat. He ended up doing some of the webbing on the suit anyway...I like to attribute it to helping him figure out a character for a commission he was working on and this was sort of his way of paying me back for the help.
