They don't call me Ghost Fleet Guy for nothing (nobody calls me that)
I love the decision to only depict his eyes in the fourth panel.
Thank you. The zipatone really makes it pop in person too.
I love how the smoke from the gun might as well be a mushroom cloud and the sky looks like waves of water. Dead bodies on the ground just make it all the more spooky.
What a monumental piece of comic book history!
If I had to provide one page to summarize all that is amazing about Harren, I would use this one.
This is one of the standout moments for me in my favorite series. Those clothespins were such a fun aspect.
Best page in the series! Great composition, but every parent has been at this level of frustration lol. Wish I could've grabbed it, but glad it found a good home!
Such a perfect example of everything that appeals to me as a Daredevil fan. Great pickup.
Incredible! Definitely channeled his inner Kirby on this.
Coolest cover ever. This is going to be in an exhibition someday.
Can't wait to see this in a museum someday. Congrats on a gorgeous page of storytelling and a piece of comics history.
This Daniel Warren Johnson at his finest, from a cover-worthy composition to all the details, is as that floor of faces.
This tells an entire story in an image. Lovely colors and composition. It makes my imagination go wild!
I hadn't quite considered the balance of the page from an inking and composition standpoint, but that's why we have friends smarter than us! Thank you for bringing it up--I have a whole new appreciation for this now.
Totally agree--that panel stops you in your tracks. I was drawn to how loose and fluid the linework is...just look at that nose in the third panel!
There's a lot to enjoy here with Rossmo's panels bringing energy and pacing, but I've never seen DWJ be so minimalist in an interior before. I love it!
I loved the big tank rolling through the city in the second panel, but ultimately understood why he went with his final take.
I always worry I'm going to ruin the paper, but I do it for great people like you!
They don't call me Kevin "Ghost Fleet" Andrews* for nothing!
*nobody calls me that
Thank you so much for the kind words. I'm glad to know you're on Team Splort Spurt with me.
Great pairing between concept and artist. Love how Klein renders musculature. All time great commission.
It doesn't get more DWJ than this. Wow!
Congrats on this piece from someone who is about to be the next household name!
Is there anything better than edge to edge inks and filled borders? Makes the original feel like it's ready to be published. What a great piece though. The lighting is impeccable throughout, but I don't think I've ever seen anything as cool as those headlight flares so far from the car. SO COOL!
This has everything you could ever want from a Harren. Top tier piece.
This is the kind of page that the Marvel empire was founded upon.
My favorite page from my favorite book!
You never speak a false word!
And little did they know how destructive that sword would be in the wrong hands.
This book went from 0-100 right at this moment.
Good call on going with the edge to edge inks
That's a nice looking skull on Taskmaster. It's giving Mignola and Miller combined.
A timeless rendition of Optimus for the most enduring Transformes series ever.
Not only does Leinil tell some amazing stories, but his art is just otherworldly in person. Out of every original comic art pages I've seen, Leinil's work just looks so crisp and clean and textured that it's hard to imagine how it could be achieved.
Looking back, it's so easy to see a superstar in the making. Love this page - it's like I can hear heavy metal playing in the background.
This is incredible! Thanks for the introduction to an emerging talent.
Thank you! It really pops in person.
Dude. This is nuts. How does this somehow look sharper and clearer than any original I've seen?! Dale's linework and finishes must be next level.
The flowers in this series made for some of the most gorgeous panels I've ever seen
Amazing page! You could see DWJ making his star turn in the final two issues of Ghost Fleet, and this is an excellent example of it!
