I love how the smoke from the gun might as well be a mushroom cloud and the sky looks like waves of water. Dead bodies on the ground just make it all the more spooky.

This is one of the standout moments for me in my favorite series. Those clothespins were such a fun aspect.

I hadn't quite considered the balance of the page from an inking and composition standpoint, but that's why we have friends smarter than us! Thank you for bringing it up--I have a whole new appreciation for this now.
Totally agree--that panel stops you in your tracks. I was drawn to how loose and fluid the linework is...just look at that nose in the third panel!
There's a lot to enjoy here with Rossmo's panels bringing energy and pacing, but I've never seen DWJ be so minimalist in an interior before. I love it!
I loved the big tank rolling through the city in the second panel, but ultimately understood why he went with his final take.
I always worry I'm going to ruin the paper, but I do it for great people like you!

Is there anything better than edge to edge inks and filled borders? Makes the original feel like it's ready to be published. What a great piece though. The lighting is impeccable throughout, but I don't think I've ever seen anything as cool as those headlight flares so far from the car. SO COOL!
