Jay & Silent Bob by Duncan Fegredo Owner: nout C Comment posted on 8/2/2021
Marcus Wai said:
Fegredo was one of the first artists to bring Viewaskiewniverse to comics at Oni Press. His comic runs had plenty of the 90's atittude with Clerks and Jay and Silent Bob running amok and giving off the outlaw feel of the movies on the printed page just like on this drawing. I thought at first you meant 90's comics, but I think you're more referring to the sensibilities of the 90's, as condensed in movies like Clerks, right? Because in that case: definitely ;-) |

The Crow by James O'Barr Owner: nout C Comment posted on 8/2/2021

This is tighter with more details than what you normally see from a convention drawing! He communicates the feel and mood very well. He was producing amazing pieces that weekend. I think it was the perfect level of attention versus actual work to be put out and I also think the surrounding artists boosted his morale & enthusiasm. |

Agreed, this is the perfect Crow piece from James. I wouldn't have requested anything else. Although I did read somewhere where he is happy to receive requests outside of The Crow... doesn't necessarily mean he prefers it but I don't think you could've gone wrong. Great piece Nout! I feel like I should perhaps try to see if I can get him to do a different subject. |

I've always wondered who got this one because it really shows off how well Zaff understands who Conan is. To me, he is the definitive modern artist to draw him. I've loved this one from the moment it was posted on the interwebs. So happy you have it in your great collection! Huge congrats! Well, I'm not allowed to call him Zaff, but yes, I'm the proud owner. One of the most prized possessions, though it's tough to pick, because so many come out SO well. |

Amazing! You got an original Sanjulian and a Conan at that. The textures are just first rate everywhere. The sheild alone is lifelike for days. Congrats! Thanks a lot, I can't believe it sometimes! |

Really delicate pencils shaping the super swimsuit model femme fatale! It's really hard for hair to be perfectly dried and styled in the fourth panel after a swim though. Hahaha, "magic" or "future science": U decide! |

Great idea on the over the shoulder look and even better execution by Ramon! Really rounded out nicely, too, with the smoking cigar added! Sweet looking piece. Congrats! I feel it's a good look for Wolverine, inspired by some Hulk stuff I saw recently, and a McKone cover from around the Tieri Wolverine-era. I have a Mike McKone drawing incoming, but I'm not sure now, if he re-created that shot (though I did request it). Right now, I'm on a bit of a Conan binge, as far as commissions go, though. I should totally have someone try that over the shoulder with him as well. |
