So thrilled to hear this! Thanks!
I was over the moon when huge Kirby fan/art collector Erik Larsen thought this was a phenomenol inking job!
Thanks kindly for sharing that! It always warms my heart to hear that our stint on the series was entertaining for so many and readers still retain such fond memories of what we tried to do as a team.
As ever, bud, you have my thanks!
One day Ms. Mystic will wear my transitional black dot zip over her form;-)
Credit for the embrace/composition gos to my pal Sal and for the colors to Tom with some suggestions from Sal. Thanks!
As always, much kind thanks!
Thank you! Inking Ron is a lot of fun and everything you need is there!
Thanks for the kind words! But Al Rio gets credit for the sexy pose and rendering before me. My job is to do my best to enhance it and not butcher anything; like the Hippocratic Oath- "Do No Harm";-)
Thanks so much, Shelton!
I was hired by the Marvel cosmic office of Craig Anderson through Jim Starlin in 1991-1992. Almost every assignment I did through 1995 was from this office, most notably Jim's Warlock & the Infinity Watch, but also Gaurdians, Silver Surfer, Cosmic Powers (inking Ron), Starmasters, CP Unlimited, etc. so whether planned by Joshua or pure luck, he got 2 artists with familarality with this area of the MCU. But admittedly, I don't have as much of Ron's output on such issues.
The man was an unequivocal master artist and a peach of a man. The best of the best. I was honored that the upcoming "Bernie Wrightson: Artbook - A Tribute" out this summer will be including this image along with so many dignified luminaries, my peers and other masters, all sharing together their adulation for this god among men.

Thanks sincerely for your generous compliments, Brian! I'm so pleased that you enjoyed the JSA splash page you purchased from me. Sounds like it went to a wonderful home.
This kind of work is a blast to interpret in ink with all the textures and wonky, over-the-top, bad-ass rendering. Much sincere thanks!
Early on I inked A LOT of Wyman commissions so when I got this one it was like coming home after all the years. It's always an enjoyable experience inking him and so glad to have met with your rewarding approval. Thank you!
I am truly grateful to be a part of this x-company tribute to The King. Saying he "would be proud to see this" warms my heart to no end. It was fun and I'm proud of the collaborative results. Thanks!
Damon, I've done SO MANY commissions for you (triple digits) so to pick out this one as one of your favorites is a big deal. Thank you, my friend!
I was very happy with this one. So glad to get positive feedback on it. Thank you!
Thanks! Just glad to be a part of the client's clever idea.
Thank you for the kind words!
Considering my intimidation with a new artist and style, even with all the reference I got, I truly appreciate you taking the time to tell me that. Thank you!
Thank you both! My first pro work was a fanboy dream and the enthusiasm has never faded. I've had a few fine folks, including a marvel editor at the time, tell me that was among the best work they'd seen of Angel's pencils inked...which to me is odd since it was my first work and I had little to no training with inking, having not assisted any vet inkers like many did. But thankfully my current redemption inks make a huge difference. So mych work but even more fun!!!
Much kind thanks!
Thanks so much for saying that!
Michael, As nice as this is I'm surprised you hadn't tried to have Sal Velluto and myself render these two characters together since we were a team working on both characters (or maybe we need to wait for another 15 years;-) LOL!)
Is it possible that Don Hillsman inked Borges on this? What looks like his "DH" initials follows Borges in the signature.
Is this page by Giffen & Mahlstedt?
Thanks so much! It was intimidating but fun, too!
