People tend to over-focus on the evolution of McDaniel's style because of the Miller comparison on DD. To me, his hallmarks have always been inventive layouts, perspectives and a wonderful sense of action choreography. Great looking page!
PREACH, brother. Horrible coloring decision on that halo.
LOVE the contrast on this page and how perfectly it reads even in thumbnail form (#1 indicator to me of what a well constructed image it is). Depth for days! Well done, Poppa L!
Thanks, dude! I love your corner box art. Perfect representation of this team!
Been working on everything you mentioned since I started the chase hahaha. Ultimately, I'm not sure I wanna fix anything since they used both the retouched and original for the published stuff.
The word "destiny" comes to mind! I had no idea Adam did the underlying sketch for that Biz cover (even though it's evident now that I look at the signatures). Really cool to see it in its original form. Congrats on finally bringing this baby home, Dave!
Dude.
1) This is a spectacular piece of Leonardi goodness. The figures are beautiful and that background alone is worth the price of admission.
2) Did we both independently go the Leonardi Spidey 2099 route for CAF postings on the same day? Yes we did! Are we now inexorably linked in the CAF wheel of time?
Memorable cover and love seeing it done in Wiflredo's current style. The Tex vibes in the original were cool too but it's a tie for me, here!
Any day you can a battle van interior is a good day. The lighting in this one makes it particularly awesome. Congrats, man!
Gonna nerd out a bit over those ink washes. Great use of tone/value variation on the disco ball. Really brings the whole piece together!
The tale is almost as good as the art itself. Love the subject matter and seeing Arthur take a crack at DD & Elektra too. Thanks for sharing, Eric!
Some nice action here, Ian! Cool pickup!
DUDE. Mind = blown! Incredible pickup...congrats!
Benitez was at the top (cow) of his game in this era. I loved this crossover mini too. Great DPS, man!
Incredible, man! This is a perfect example of Frank's style of this era. Personally one I'd love as a one and done example stylistically.
So much precision, care and technical know-how on this page. Joe has wrung every ounce of value variation just through the use of line weights and shapes. A wonder to behold!
I've got nothing to say that 101 people before me haven't already said. Stunning addition, Bill!
So much Kirby goodness! Love the use of the large 4-panel grid and it's got all the classic Kirby touches you could ask for (Krackle! Weird machinery!). Congrats man...epic pickup!
That's a terrific image of Hulk right there! Nic killed it on that title.
Fantastic page and selection of characters!
Terrific idea with this format and brilliant execution.
* Applause roars out for Jeremy *
* Applause roars out for the kingmaker, Mikail *
Congrats, man! Spectacular pickup....one and done for Art Adams!
Damn, man. I just remember thinking Kaine was so freaking cool. Loved the design by Bagley. Also, haters can hate but man I was so IN on the Clone Saga. This page brings back all those feels!
Ballers gonna BALLLLLLl! Huge pickup, man! Congrats!
This is an exceptional piece, man. I told Michel as soon as I laid eyes on it that it was my favorite thing he's ever done. I still stand by that and I'm happy (and jealous) it's in your collection.
HUGE! You slayed BWS and Jim Lee in one fell swoop. AND conquered the infamous HA "Make Offer" button. Terrific pickup, Jason!
Monumental pickup, Carlo! And an all-out Miller DD action page on top of everyting else. Congrats and looking forward to see what else you pick up in 2026!
This run ranks so high on my list (BP or otherwise) and I'm super happy to see an example (a great one!) in your collection. Priest and Tex were DYNAMITE on this book. Love getting to see Texeira's art in this form and as imressive as his washes are, it's his use of white highlights that adds the extra ingredient for me. Fantastic pickup man....congrats!
He's always had such a great control of shapes. All uniquely and unmistakably Pearson. He's taken that to the next level by incorporating the African continent in here. Just fantastic. What a talent he was.
The sound effect? YES! Love Wolverine and it's the best onomatopoeia in comics!
I love Richard Bennet's take on these characters. His Jubille focused issue is an all-timer for me. Congrats on the pickup!
Fantastic take on Optimus! It's infuriating how equally great Von Randall is at the horror stuff like Spawn and robots too.
I'm not familiar with Frenz's run on Cap but he was THE Thor artist for me. Very cool to see his take on Cap and his supporting cast. Congrats, man!
Love the connection you made there with your SS Black Surfer and this interpretation of Galactus :) McIsaac done goooooodddd!
Dynamic and ominous! Glad it made its way to you eventually!
Agree with MLwhat a disservice that cover design did to the original art! Very cool and memorable pickup, man!
