Fantasic choice of having the red octopus with its tentacles representing Red Skull's influence taking grip around the world!  His smile means he must know dummies are willfully spreading his hateful philosophy across the globe!

Great example of how Byrne made Lois more assertive and not being a damsel in distress all the time.  If she's a fierce reporter, we need to see that side of her come out from time to time.  Even Superman is not super enough to understand women.  In context though, they just fed Lois another lie saying Superman was raised alongside Clark in Smallville.  Great modern 80's fasion on Lois to differentiate her from the trappings of the small town.    

Pretty cool with the period correct Stan Lee.  Very few photos exist of him during this era to work with since he was somewhere in between getting the moustache.  Hardman brings the classic tight cotume webbing look and makes the black of the costume stick out even with a black background.  

The perspective on this piece is great and I love the details like the bus and people on the street. Ramona was such an amazing artist.

Very cool!  Ordway adapted the original Batman '89 movie way back then.  The white pencil is cool and the dot of white for the eye is perfect.

An artist's rendering of Spider-Man for the Bugle before Peter Parker was able to bring photos!  Hotz is doing great playing along to do a whole redesign.  It might be at the behest of JJJ to create a sensation and scare the public in order to sell more papers.  He might have doubled down on it through the years just to keep the paper afloat.       

So awesome!  Ploog's imagination far exceeds what actual special effects could carry out in the movie.  His staging and use of perspective is that of a cinematographer.

Such a cool time-capsule piece !! Love Superman's look of that era and Jusko did him great justice !

This is yours ?! Congrats my friend !  An amazing piece from concept to execution !!  This piece was the first time I'd seen Guice draw Azbats and it's one of the best renditions ever ! 

I'm a HUGE fan of Guice's Superman work (you can tell) and this is a very cool early example by this creative and prolific creator ! IMO, the figure seems to be somewhat inspired by the classic Wayne Boring version...

A very fine depiction as '83 was a ROM and Micronauts era for Guice!  The rock behind him should be green, unless the color has faded.  

Super commission!  It was fun watching DWJ work on this during a past Friday with DDubs youtube session.

His newer work reminds me of classic Mazzuchelli.  Love it!

Very nice one.  I can see he erased quite a bit, but that just means he liked something else on it so much that he didn't just start over with another piece of paper.  Tim Sale is hot with the release of The long Halloween part 1 animated movie.
