I would as well. Someday, when I get to a convention Jhonen is at, I'd love to ask him, and if he has it personally still, I wonder if he'd do an exhibit so his fans could ogle it in some capacity.
Such an amazing piece by Bill...congratulations on this!
I was also struck by this piece...really loved the way Brian incorporated new techniques and texture into his more traditional style, and yes, the color choice really stands out...if this was on my wall I wouldn't be able to stop looking at it. Congrats on a wonderful win! :)
The credits were an accident, but I see what you mean! Good catch!
This holds a special place in my heart.
It's got to be rough having a fishbowl for a head...
Indeed it did. :)
You're welcome! GCD is the Grand Comics Database (comics.org), a worldwide comics resource. :)
Hello, I am currently indexing this issue for GCD, and I ran across this page...it is page #10 of the story (which is technically page 12 of the comic, counting covers, etc.). Nice!
Thanks for checking that out, Marcus!
This is a stunning Timm piece! I love Psylocke, and the softness of the rendering here is a lovely touch! Congrats!
Couldn't have said it better myself (now if I can just manage to get some decent pics)!
Nice catch on that Queen card, I hadn't made that connection myself.
No kidding! It splashes so much you can hardly see what's happening... that's the 90s in a nuts, and mushroom cloud basically seals the deal, you're right.
You know if it's a Marvel book there are a ton of refrigerators waiting off-panel just for characters to secretly save themselves in!
This is an amazing Jae Lee piece. If you can ever manage to let go of it, please drop me a message. I would love to have a chance to add this to my collection. Absolutely gorgeous!
Purple is my favorite color, and what a lovely form on which to see it...really nice piece! I'll echo other sentiments of interest if you are ever looking to sell. :)
Not surprisingly, an absolute stunner of a piece (even as "demure" as this peacock pose is)! It's been wonderful to hear of all of these fellow birdwatchers in comics in the last few years. Congratulations to you and your wife.
An absolutely gorgeous cover! One of my favorites of hers. Congrats!
This piece is just fantastic! I adore Peach's work, and somehow managed to miss her being at NC Comicon in 2019?? That's a blow. Anyway, wonderful acquisition. If you ever feel the need to sell, drop me a message.
Yes, I do really have that tattoo, but it was interesting that he chose to put it in because most artists haven't included my tats in their interpretations. I agree it adds something visually to the piece.
Ooh, very nice! I had never seen Turner's Gambit before, and now I wish he'd done more.
Thanks! He has! He did this issue and Vampirella vs. Lady Death: The End (Vampirella Monthly #26, I believe) also. His interiors are large pages too, so they command attention when displayed...18" x 24" or so.
Gorgeous details as always for a Shimizu piece, but that hair is something else!
Amazing cover...never seen this Shimizu piece before!
Such a gorgeous piece... I loved her covers on this series. Congratulations on snapping up this one!
Wowwee...gorgeous! Maybe Matt Groening and co. read this comic before creating Futurama, and that last panel is where they got the idea for keeping people's heads alive in those bell-jars in the future.
Lovely splash! I've been admiring Riley Rossmo's art as well. Haven't bought any yet, but it's likely to happen...
This is fantastic! I'm seeking original Chaos! Purgatori pages myself and this is a great one! Congrats again. :)
Wow, neat...have you taken it to Lee and asked if he might want to finish it now? This looks like early work and it might be interesting to see what it looks like uniting his old style with his new style. The jam concept is cool too, but I'm a total sucker for Jae Lee art. ;)
I had a few of the museum editions a number of years back (but none with remarques, so congrats on that!), but unfortunately I had to let those go due to a financial set-back. I also had one or two more of these Turner remarques...a Lara Croft one and another Sara Pezzini Witchblade sketch that I let go a number of years ago as well to pay some bills, but I'm really glad I held on to these (and my slew of signed and S&N books) considering how expensive Turner's originals have become. I'd still love to get an original page from Witchblade or Fathom, or even original card art by him into my collection, but that seems nearly as likely as an original Jim Lee Hush page at this point.
Thank you for the information! I am certainly planning on reading the comics and I'll keep my eye out for the B&W line art pages.
I like to see different takes on her too...she's a fantastic character with more to her story than many give her credit for...they probably get too distracted by her assets. LOL
I love how you say "She is to be treated as a lady before anything else." It makes me think back to her origin...she was a sweet, vulnerable lady to begin with (as many of us are)...her experiences made her into the ruthless warrior queen of death we know her as today, but that doesn't mean that when the armor comes off (literally, in this case, and figuratively) at least part of her isn't still just Hope, incarnate (as many of us are). A good thing to remember about women, people, and/or those who wear armor (real or figurative).
