Man don't get a much better Stroman Xfactor piece. Has all the hallmarks of his run from that era. And Art Thibert on inks! You should get him to fix the fading lines. Interestingly the original b/w pin up has all those blacks but the colored images all of them are missing the faded lines.
The contrast and cutieness of these sketches vs the violence in the comic is always a surprising turn of the brush from Kojima. Another lovely add to your collection. Congrats.
Beautiful page and some solid storytelling. Dan's inking on this is so sharp and elegant.
Congrats on getting such a great page. I especially loved these early pages where it is a bit less stylized - a bit - but full of all those great noir shadows. FYI there is a HUGE exhibition of his work on right now in the Cartoon art museum in Basel Switzerland. Definitely worth making the trip as they always put on an excellent show.
Thanks, I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. Tried to keep the coloring in a typical loose feel Sean has on his work. And yes he definitely brought his "A" game on this commission. Very lucky with this one
How have I not left a comment on this? You know my love for Miginola, but still shame on me. Its a stunner of a page and I love all those silhouettes and that bottom panel with the background buildings is a show stopper. A gem for any Mignola collection.
Definitely go say hi, his love for comics and comic art is infectous. Plus you get so see some amazing art!
He is great and his love for comic art is HUGE! Here is his page but there is a LOT he hasn't posted

Thanks, it was a lot of fun to play with Sean's drawing. Glad you enjoyed the process shots. Being a process junkie myself I always try to share some behind the scenes work.
The mood on this is dialed up to 1000! This is one of his best Hellboys ever- hell one of his best commissions ever. Congrats!
What a fun crossover that would have been. I love District 14 shame it never got a 3rd album. Cool to see Jeff Smith's take on one of the characters
The emotional rollecoster wrapped into this allegorical fantasy is next level for sure. (I know big words) and that is even before I talk about how masterful the art is. Very happy to have this. I saw a show of his originals not long ago and they were even better in person. When i saw the art for his new book the golden age, they were amazing, and it was a shame how they were colored. They are so much better in black and white. It really needs a black and white edition.
That's a cool one, you can actually make out a face in shadow shapes, thats unusual for these. And Phil only paints in oil. best of luck with the sale.
Chi's brushwork is some of the best in the biz. Great pick up, fun spidey piece and pose.
Love the eyes. Might be a 'sketch" card but it is a mighty painting.
I had one of thost buisness cards. It was NYCC 1995 maybe 94 I forget. Bought a page of his deadpool comic, sadly Joe was not at the table so never met him. Loved the biz card though!
Tula always delivers! This is like a naughty Snow white, another great add to the collection.
love that warm to cool shift in the buildings. and the rendering on Spidey's arms. This feels like a wall power piece. Hope it has a nice place on the wall.
Was a great show. Farel won the gold medal and got to hang with him and Tomer and James Jean. AKA the Meathaus crew. Also talked to Jae Lee a bit and Jose Villarubia. Was a great show and I was proud to be a part of it. It was definitely a good way to showcase comic art as art back then. It was still not taken as seriously or as valuable as it is now. Here one of the pieces I got into the show. And the house on fire in the same gallery https://www.comicartfans.com/gallerypiece.asp?piece=213463
Another little gem from Moebius. This card set really needs a nice big art book. So cool to see the line work and the final color. Congrats on the aquisition.
It's a great little piece. I saw this at Albert's table at Como with the line art. the color really brings this drawing to life. No one draws robots and sci fi better. Congrats
His eatly 90's punisher and ghost rider had just the right energy and grit. I think his Punisher gets overshadowed by the Ghost Rider which is a same as IMO the punisher work is stronger.
Hard to "compete" against Fawcett's draftmanship. He was a master of his craft even with him being partly color blind.
Dan is a great draftsman so not surprised his sketch is strong too. He and I share a love for the turn of the century Simplicissimus artists and I like how he made this feel like a litho drawing from that era. You would probably like his drawings on location. https://www.zalkus.com/glenfiddich-distillery/
Nice Fun commission. I love Jared's take on Usagi, cool you got him to include the car!
Ha, I'll take the compliment. I don't know Gasly but can see the look, though In my old pics i really needed a haircut and to clean up the beard! Sloppy art school days!
Nice pick up. Jesper is such a great painter. His sense of design and depth is top level. Love all the atmosphere in this one.
yeah I am pretty happy with this one. Its about 8x10 and was less than what most of those trading card color pieces over repro line art go for, and they are trading card size!
Nice pick up. Interesting to see all the faces have past ups, or were touched up. I know this is really early Lapham so I wonder if Shooter had a LOT of feeback on the visual acting. IMO turned out great especally for such an early job from Lapham. Congrats.
Stunner Congrats! DWJ was on fire with this series, and this cover doesn't disappoint!
I love the updated cover for this collection. Lark and Sean did a great job with it and I love how the final turned out. I would almost get one of them to ink the main figure with the inked background to make a more unified piece. Congrats on such a solid cover.
IMO this turned out better than the old cover. George is a better artist now so that helps but he really had fun with this one. You can tell with all the mix media and detail he put in. Love the colors, congrats!
One of his best commissions. DWJ and Star wars = pure gold. Congrats.
Great storytelling in this one. It's hard to keep these quiet pages interesting, Sean always delivers the goods though and keeps the intensity high here. Great pick up.
He does hair so well. Perfect scene for him to draw though I am partial to any Blade Runner art ;-)
Another stunner from Mike. IMO his Seascapes are the best. His chuncky brushstrokes are perfect for rocks. Love seeing a process pic, nice add to the collection.
I was wondering why I was getting so many new comments on this piece. Yeah have hard it for a long time, even gave a scan of it for the artist edition. It's definitely a corner stone of my collection. Ronin was probably the comic that most inspired me to pursue art as a career.
Thanks! Still amazed even 20 years later i own this, Granted I traded for most of the value of this page, but knowing what i know now I would have gone back and bought as many FM and Mazz born again pages I could. Could never have imagined it would be worth 20X what i paid for it.
Always loved those snow scenes in Conqueror Worm. This page is a perfect example. Congrats!
Wow that is so cool, you are right 100% full circle. It's great you still have your drawing/watercolor from back then. You should frame them together. It's a real rarity to ever have the opportinity let along having the stars align for this to happen. Congrats!!! Now if only I could afford to own some of the Todd McFarlane spiderman covers i drew...ha!
That's a beauty! love all those lost edges. Was this the one you picked up from his hotel room right before the plane? If so what a way to end the con.
