Collecting original art seemed like a natural evolution from comic collecting. I know it is not to many collectors but for me there was so much more in a piece of original artwork than any comic could compare with. There is a connection with the artists and a peek into the studio that can't easily be had any other way on each piece of artwork. I have been collecting since roughly 1999. Through this hobby I have rekindled my passion for comics and artwork. One of the most amazing things in this hobby is the chance to make acquaintances and friends with people who you worship. Many great fellow collectors and many great friendships have formed from this hobby. I can't imagine a more fufilling way to enjoy the medium than through comic reading and collecting artwork. The comicartfans website has also played a big role in the evolution of this hobby. I get so much enjoyment and have made so many friends that I can't imagine anyone not wanting to support the site with a premium membership, even if you don't use a single extra service they provide it is a great deal.

I am trying to change my featured art gallery around from time to time and curate it with different themes. This current version features art that truly belongs in a gallery including rare and irreplaceable pieces of comic art history. Previous themes included Ode to Panel Pages; Alternative comics; Commissions; European Art; Favorites; Black and White Covers; Painted art; Painted Covers; Hidden Gems; Masters of Light and Shadows; Hand Colored Terry and Pirate prints by Caniff; "Don't even ask - nostalgic art"; 1920's and Earlier; Artists Who's Names Begin with K; Hugo Pratt and Corto Maltese, John Biernat collection highlights and Strip Art. The current featured items that I consider Best in Class meaning artists who I think the example of art I got from them is among the best pieces they have done in their careers. Some of these include commissions I have been lucky enough to obtain with the artists going above and beyond on them. A number of Dragon Lady pieces amongst those.
