Comic Con Art - Big Wow 2013

This year was my first Big Wow Con. Actually my first west coast con. I chose this con over San Diego because of the artists from Spain coming over (unfortunately all 5 cancelled). Despite that, it was a great con and I am glad I made the trip out to San Jose from Toronto. I met many artists I have not met before, many artists I have met, many new collectors and friends I have known for years but never met in person. And the art... lots of gorgeous art to see. I picked up a few pieces at the show. For me the highlights were getting to meet Sergio Aragones, speaking at length with Alex Nino about his early years, hanging out with Brian Stelfreeze and watching him work and listening to him teach and then the meals with friends. I was asked to be an impromptu guest on the Collecting Original Art panel and that turned out to be a lot of fun. I won a piece at the auction too. A big thank you to con organizer Steve Morger for VIP treatment, his efforts made the trip possible.
