Congrats! I always wanted a Jungle Action title page, but the opportunity never came. This is one of the best of them!
I personally like the way it looks. It's as if the image fades off at the sides with the seemingly incomplete figures. If you look at the published cover, the side figures were finished off by the coloring.
So interesting! I have the original, but it lacks Killmonger. It looks like the orginal I have was turned into a stat and a new Killmonger image added over it, as well as rotating the main image slightly. I've never seen the original from the published cover. Do you know what year Mr. Buckler did this?
Absolutely stunning! If this isn't blurring the line between comic and fine art, I don't know what is.
This pencil page is just as stunning as his color pages. Wow! Congrats again!
Amazing page/piece. This story was incredible! Congrats!
This was such a beatiful issue of this run. You are lucky to have an interior page from it.
Geez...absotultely amazing piece! Wow! Congrats on the pickup!
Hey! I used to own this! I still have the original that this page derives from! Great to see it here!

This is really spectacular. I don't have any pages with Shuri. You have a cover with BP and Shuri! So cool!!!
Hey Douglas! Thanks for the nice comment! Yes, not many of us Doom 2099 fans! Say, didn't I know you from a long time ago? Your name seems familiar to me. Maybe some old message board?
Haha...now THAT would have been interesting to see come out of Marvel! Seems like they are trying to go in this direction now but just don't have it in their DNA.
You nailed it, Marcus! This is one of the reasons I fell in love with Doom 2099!
It's an honor to have you stop by and comment as it is to own one of your pieces! Thank you!!
I love Romita Spider-man, but it still lacks something that Ditko gave to the character.
OMG!!! That is such a TRUE work of art. There is something so amazing and visceral about Ditko's Spider-man. No one since has been able to capture it.
Oh jeez...There's the big splash from Jungle Action 17! I'm never gonna get that now! :'(
Brilliant observation! I never noticed that before! The snap of the jaw and the smashing sound of the water co-occur. Such a subtle thing...I wonder if it was intentional.
Thanks for the comment! There are so many examples in this series of the breaking of panel conventions. This is perhaps a minor example. I wish I had some of the really great examples!
Thank you! Yes, definately stylized! At the time it was released I would have called it "jarring" in the context of what had come previously (Tex and Jusko!). But over time, I have really come to love these issues and Manley's art in them. I've always liked his style and it just took some time for this particular run to grow on me!
This was a great arc! Don McGregor is my favorite BP writer, but sometimes Priest is too!!
Yes, it works much better as unworded art! Thanks for leaving a comment, Sir!
That is so cool of you to provide this additional information! Thank you again, Mr. Jusko! Again, its an honor to have you comment!!
OMG! Mr. Jusko! It's an honor! Thank you for leaving a comment! Thanks for explaining about the work distribution. I Love your art! I wish I had more of it but am happy for the couple pieces I do have! Thank you again!!
Those Kazar stories are great! And beautiful too if I remember correctly! If you happen across a Gene Colan page of the Doom story from issue 7, please let me know. It's high up on my want list! Thank you commenting!
Yes, that was indeed the case. Same with the Doom 2099 25 cover.
Thanks for the great comments! Yes, this is an amazing example of Broderick's Doom 2099! Imagine all the black in the image as light red...that's what it looked like before Bob rehabilitated it!
You nailed it! Haha, as a 10 year old, I really didn't get the story but the art freaked me out and hooked me for life!
Thank you, Christopher! Yeah, I'm still in the processing of posting the collection. This is about 1/3rd of it so far. More to come! And I agree, Turner was great. It was a unique sign of respect to his skill that editorial decided not to ink over his pencils. I have one more of these pencil pages I'll post soon.
Of course I agree! Boy I miss the Priest era. That was one hell of a ride!
Oh man...so classic!
Wow! This is awesome! I'm such a 2099 fan and love seeing these pieces out there!
Oh..My..God!! (falls to the floor)
