Josie with the hammer, both behind her back, & then presenting it like a saleswoman doing a presentation--two more amazing panels that perfectly show her fake niceness hiding murderous intent.
Some of my fave panels in Lady Killer are part of this first murder--the bottom right panel, where Josie is giving her fake, saleswoman, smile, is amazing. I've seen that look SO many times from women from Josie's generation, that vacuous, vacant sorta glowing eyes, that selfless "dinner's ready" kinda smile, but underneath she's imagining stabbing her husband to death. Joélle captures that look perfectly, & it lends such horror to this murder scene.
I agree that, altho it's a stat, given how hard it is to find examples of Brewster's artwork posting it is very valuable & I totally appreciate it! The recent Yoe/IDW Fiction House collection did not include a single page of Brewsters art, despite how the authors crowed about the women of Fiction House, Lily Renee was the only one represented. So, yes, a very rare *attributed* sighting! Thanx!
I love the way Renee uses darks here & in her work in general. She has an almost high contrast look to her pen & ink work

Gorgeous art, Hopper had a sucha beautiful, clean line. It's too bad the recent Fiction House collection didn't include a single page of her art
