This was me having recently discovered Frazetta's ink drawings
Many thanks. Your post sure brought back memories. Trying so hard just to get recognized. Hundreds of drawings that went nowhere in the process. They certainly weren't all gems. Hell, I was still learning how to hold a brush. And I had Dan in my ear telling me I'd never make it. I miss the old guy.
Backstory:
I was staying with a girlfriend and asked her to pose for me. She came running downstairs in a bathing suit, carrying he father's shotgun. I recall yelling at her for bad weapon safety. She scared hell out of me.
I forgot all about this, Doyle.
Who the hell would ask me to work this hard?
This is not from Batman Retroactive.
This was published in Batman Confidential. Later collected in the Super Powers graphic novel.
MTiOG, yeah, the entire panel # 2 (and so much of those comics) had been redrawn by others. Sry.
Not a Jerry Bingham page, can't take credit. But editors did that to me a lot back then. I often didn't recognize my own books. Enjoy.
This is actually one of the drawings I did as a sample trying to break into comics. I was living downstairs from Dan Adkins, and taking advice. (Not necessarily Tarzan, but close enough.) The year, (between 1978-9).
Still one of my favorites. Wish I could have drawn more Warlock.
