Thanks! I liked the motion lines and all the Robins on the page.
That's true. He doesn't pencil much himself, so maybe he really wanted to make the page count.
Yes, fun fact is this may be my first piece that had Zipatone on it. With the blue lines you can see where Fernandez made some more dynamic choices with Batman's posing in the inks compared with his original sketching. You get more of a baseball pitch in the final art. The splatter is a good element too. I appreciate the work some of these artists put into adding texture to their work.
His colored artwork is great, but the line art here really shows you what Scott McDaniel is doing well. Everything flows well down the page.
Superman isn't having any of that. Look at that last expression he's got. Nice piece!
Man, that first panel and the one with the skull are sick. Great storytelling. Also that's always special to connect a piece back to your own childhood like that.
Her wild hair in motion is an excellent touch here.
Thanks! It's a great piece! Now to find a way to display this spread.
Thanks for the comment. Yes, I believe he left several panels of this flashback scenes as only pencils. Hazy is a good word for it. I wonder if it's a choice that Ivan Reis would have made or whether the editor or even Geoff Johns would have requested that.
Top notch storytelling. I love the last panel.
Thanks! This page might have more to do with me being a comic reader today than anything else. I really got hooked on the Nightwing series, and this literal leap into the series by Eddy Barrows is a great layout.
