They're all roughly modeled after the sole page like this Miyazaki drew for the manga, albeit with way fewer text since that's harder when you're not the creator, but I was quite happy that when I shared these on the Nausicaä subreddit before Pbbeta's work was good enough to momentarily fool people into believing these to be official.
Family matters! ... and this one definitely ended up in the right one! Congrats!
Such a stunning piece, great pick-up! Must look even more incredible in person. Federico's attending a local con soon and I can't wait to lay my eyes on and admire some of his work there.
Wow, terrific piece! Not a character combo I ever thought I needed to see, but they really do an incredible job of making it work both composition and character personality-wise. Only Indy hasn't noticed the snakes yet, or this must be the archeological find of a lifetime, for him to look this elated with snakes a few feet away.
Very nice! I came across this on socials when Daniel first posted it and while the purported subtle allusion of a skull still kind of eludes me, the colors are indeed breathtaking and I like the (freaky) Kodama forming almost a sort of summoning for the magic of the Forest God.
Nice, I really like how she captured the water being displaced around his body!
Thank you, that's a very high compliment given your absolutely stunning Silk and Batgirl galleries, especially after those crazy OAX additions! There's always more stuff in the works, both by well-known CAF artists (Nate Powell!) and some who aren't, so stay tuned if you want to discover some more I guess.
Tula and Portrait of a Lady on Fire are a match made in heaven, nice pick-up!
Stellar piece! I like to imagine Fio is just right offscreen, fixing the extensive damage to the plane, while Porco is set up for another long repair job with his little parasol and quietly recovering from an intense f(l)ight.
Very nice! And poor Sluggo, looks like even the minimum 'woims' wage has been stagnant since 1978...
Ian's work is so good and so rich with attention for detail, with this perhaps being the best example of it! He threw in a print of this this with my commission and I've admired it often.
Whew, this one is just too good! I already liked it when Felix posted it, liked it again for Nick's post, but I guess I'll have to like it once more here, congrats! Love the hint of that sea breeze in Porco's scarf.
This seems like a piece by Jessica Hong?
It's towards the bottom of the illustration page of her website, can't link to it directly, though colors on her scan are much darker.
One of the ways she visualized her mental health struggles in 'It's Lonely at the Centre of the Earth' was with a creature/spirit very akin to No-Face, so it wouldn't surprise me.
I got lucky in that online had access a couple of hours before official opening I believe, so I was able to swoop in and claim the Parakid as if it was a Felix drop immediately. This one actually got delayed in the mail en route to the gallery, so it was only visible online and I bought it before it actually went up a couple of days after opening.
Haha, it doesn't feature on any of the posters as far as I'm aware. Missed chance to sneakily put one of the Portrait pieces on page 28 of the Eurydice art book though.
Go for it I'd say! Sean's probably the most communicative rep around and Nicole consistently delivers, with a turnaround time one can only dream of when commissiong most artists.
It's very funny I made sure to check Instagram daily for months after NYCC hoping to see it, watching all the other cool Andrade comms pass by, and then he posts it on the exact same day I get my hands on it. Felix was kind enough though to provide the scan upon my request when he mailed it a couple of weeks back, so I did get to see it early.
I was very pleased when I saw Derek post this on his socials indeed! Slowly but surely fleshing out the theme too. Got a fun small specific request in today, a Kushana to accompany my Andrade Nausicaä portrait en route, and a few more artists working with carte blanche I'm most curious to see what they come up with in the future.
Tillie really did an amazing job, and it actually looks even better in person too. I only received it today after the usual troubles with the postal service and snapped a quick picture, but almost all of the colour got lost in the initial scan.
I caught his comments on the livestream afterwards and he's very much right to be proud of it!
I very much liked how it feels like she's having a curse slowly eat away at her, sort of like Ashitaka in Princess Mononoke. Was really impressed how quickly Peach conjured up the image out of nothing during the live as well.
Thanks! I was lucky enough to check my inbox just as the update from Next Comic Art dropped and couldn't miss the opportunity. Gratz on nabbing those two nice Black Cats as well!
