Romain,
I feel ya, brother. Not certain how long you have been collecting...but I have been since the early 90's. Since then, this "hobby" has gotten waaaaaaay out of control. The up side - Purchases I made are worth a lot more $$$. The down side - Getting harder and harder to continue.
BTW - I love Starlin's work. I don't know what you paid for It (not sure I want to)...but it's a great piece.
My amazement...that the Hulk actually lasted for 6 minutes. I'm betting my ex-wife could have accomplished that task in just 3 minutes.
Ending up with Hulk needing to seek out Dr. Strange for a shot of penicillin.
AW,
Glad to have "hooked you up", brother. And don't worry about that mortgage. Thousands of people own a home. You are the sole owner of this piece. Enjoy!
Mike -
Thank you. Normally, I have to pay $40 - $60 just to be surrounded by these freeks.
I appreciate you saving me the $$$
Yo SM,
Beautiful piece of original art. Man, I sure wish I could have owned such a page. :)
No one is gonna appreciate that humor, but you.
Ruben,
Good to hear from you. Yes, I have been selling off some of my pages. In the past 6 months, I have sold 10 pages to CAF memebers and came dangerously close to selling my Art Adams FF page just this week. Also, I have sold some pages on Comic Link...and have another shipment ready to go. But I guess I was having "issues" going cold turkey. So, every once in a while...I gotta get my "fix".
I understand your take on the price and types of art. For faaaar tooo long I have sat back and watched what was once a fun hobby, turn into someone's business or industry. Where is the fun in that?
Anyway, hope you are doing well. Let me know if you have any interest in this cover...and I will send you a message when I am ready to part with it.
Steve,
WOW! I never got this reaction when I owned this page.
Glad I could hook you up..
Peter,
For $6...you've got a deal.
When I schedule that trip to Ireland, I will be certain to pack this.
Duke,
I'd hav you throw in the Wicked Witch...but I am fairy certain I was married to her in the 80's.
Eric,
Thanks for the comments. Gonna have to check with the bank on that check.
Truly stunning melding of two giants of the industry.
Your patience paid off.
JC -
Thanks for the asist.
Do I need to give you the rest of the day off, again?
N/B/M/H/N,
Thanks for the respect. You folks have a great number of pages on your site, as well.
John,
I was unaware of that. Than
ks for the "heads up". I think I will relist this art as #1...as opposed to #4.
Michael,
Yes. It has the appearance of a 2-page spread...but actually all on one page.
John,
Not so sure. My ex-wife was surronded by flying monkeys...and it did her no good.
MP - While there are not many pages on your site...but what is there is clearly Top Notch. Bueno!
Jason, Thanks for the congrates. I guess sometimes it takes another "eye" in order to appreciate what you have (please take a look at my children),
RB - I owned this page for several years...but realized it was time for this beautiful splash to find a new home. Enjoy.
Ruben,
Don't seat it. If I didn't mind revealing the price...I could have easily sent that information to your email.
As for the comic - Onslaught Reborn was published in February of 2008.
Ruben,
I don't typically reveal what I paid for my pages. Initially, because it could inhibit future sales. But also, it might drive some collectors cra-cra, to disover just how insane today's pricing is. However, for you brother...I will make an exception. I picked up this cover in October of 2008...for just $600. Then, I took it to a local Con (probably Portland), where Rob signed it...for FREE! That was before artists and collectors outpriced this industry/hobby.
Ruben,
Yes it is. Perhaps I will go back to listing the artists. I really should not allow one zealot to alter my postings.
Timothy,
Sorry to hear that. Ya know, I'm not against a guy making a few dollars. Especially when they have to sit there and listen to people bend their ear all day about comic stuff. About the last thing I want to do, is talk about work...on my day off. But if they are going to put themselves out there, they ought t at least make it affordable for the fans. At 65, I can afford it...I just won't, But how about the kids??? As a funder of Image comics...perhaps he sh9uld be worried about his.
I was in line to obtain the signature (the reason I took my art to the Portland - Rose City Con). A guy who was in the "Lee" party informed me of the fee. So, I got out of line
Irony of the times - I first met Jim Lee in San Diego on 1/19/92 (certain of the date...since it was my sons first bithday). He has sitting next to Jim Valentino...and was providing signatures and rough drawings (on comic backboards)...for NOTHING.
Fame and greed have ruined this hobby/industry.
JB,
I did not say that you were incorrect. All I did was tell you exactly what was listed in the actual book (I imagined that would be a legitimate source).
However, I do not Insta/Google/Face/Gram. I'm a follower of the Wenedesday Addams philosophy - "I find the internet to be a soul-sucking void of meaningless affirmation".
But I thank you for monitoring my site and providing input. Stay tunes...as I have a number of other pieces of art that "appear" to have been created by Rob.
Jeremy,
Perhaps. I typicall acquire the printed comic...once I have purchased a page of art. On page 6 of the actual comic, there is a circle with the names of the contributors. Within that circle it shows:Liefeld/Fraga/Loeb merely listed as "production".
To what degree or extent...the book does not specify.
