“You can call me ‘Chuckles’”. Iconic splash page from G.I. Joe: Cobra (IDW) by Antonio Fuso Owner: Peter Admirand Comment posted on 12/22/2025
Marcus Wai said:
I always wondered why Chuckles was so beloved by fans while only reading the main ARAH series and seeing his sporadic appearances. I guess you've explained it! After a preview in G.I. Joe 0, it began with a 4 issue arc, G.I. Joe: Cobra in 2009. IF you get around to reading it, give me a shout on your thoughts--even if it doesn't echo my high praise! :) |

G.I. Joe 319 p. 18: Snake-Eyes,Scarlett, Dawn, and Storm Shadow leaving Springfield Owner: Peter Admirand Comment posted on 12/11/2025

Fun modern era of ARAH! This storyline is one of the top Hama has done in Skybound, IDW, and Marvel featuring all out war in the different factions using Springfield as the battleground. Yes, definitely. And based on the issue that came out yesterday, we finally get the return of old favorites like Firefly, Scrap Iron, and the Crimson Twins. |

Sheep Profile in G.I. Joe 318 with Cobra Commander! Baaaaaa! Owner: Peter Admirand Comment posted on 11/13/2025
Marcus Wai said:
The new revamped GIJOE ARAH under skybound is well worth a read for old school Hama storytelling! He still makes these personal relationships the core of the book. With that said, it's cool that a rare sheep in comics appearance inspired you to get a piece from this title. Pelletier was drawing Scotland but the scenery to parts of Ireland is close enough! I remember there were some Dublin scenes in the IDW days. Maybe I can get one of those pages, too! But thanks for your support and comments! |

G.i. Joe Origins 16,p.21; ACO art Owner: Peter Admirand Comment posted on 8/11/2025

Pretty cool widescreen movie style storyboarding to the script. We can see the notations on the left on each panel to tie images with the storytelling. Thanks for that helpful observation: you're right and it helps me appreciate it more. |

G.i. Joe Origins 7, p2: Why the extra images in the Margin? (See ACO’s answer in the description) Owner: Peter Admirand Comment posted on 8/1/2025
Marcus Wai said:
It gives us an extra bonus of artwork that very likely could have been used to keep the perspective and sight lines intact when the figures are so isolated in the panel. Yes, absolutely, Marcus! |

Death of a G.I. Joe (Grand Slam…brutal head shot)…. Owner: Peter Admirand Comment posted on 7/18/2025
Marcus Wai said:
Much more brutal and high stakes than before! People always wondered why Cobra and Joes always had parachutes, well now there are real stakes at play! No laser guns or storm Troopers here that can't hit the side of a barrel. |

Back in the 80's, the Red Sox were still cursed and always the underdog which made us root for them and Cutter. Unless you were a New Yorker like me! |

GI Joe A Real American 194…Mutt and Junkyard and a host of Joes on a mission to free Grunt Owner: Peter Admirand Comment posted on 5/2/2025
Marcus Wai said:
Very cool page that typifies the Hama written GI Joe stories! A deployment of specialists with varying personalities all working towards one goal. Unlike the cartoon or the current series, the focus is spread around with characters that represent all corners of the USA. I miss the old Special Missions! |

It reminds me of the early issues of the Marvel series where they had to establish the hidden base to sell some playsets! These are some great upgrades to that old base/playset. Maybe in Classified sets one day! |

Snake's in the first and last panel of this page! HISS tanks were cool as that's military hardware that wasn't based on anything in real life. That's right, so they covered him in tarp when they colored the page so removed him twice in the end! |

Very cool early IDW issue art! Padilla was essential to make this continuation of Hama's writing, fully bought in by the fans! Thanks. He's overlooked and I read Hama had some issues with him, but he has a distinctive style. I have one of his finished pencils and inks which I'll post this week.

Very rare as we see a fully finished GI Joe work by Gallant! The ninja on the tile rooftops is a classic trope of martial arts theater! Thanks for that comment. Definitely a movie-like scene. |
