There are two ink blots on the tape on his palm that make it look like it's blood and therefore a post battle scene as you yourself assume. But given that Kom got the commission himself and he describes it as "Daredevil getting ready to go to war.", I have to assume it's pre-battle. Of course, the artist, while focused on putting the finishing touches on it, may have forgotten that the request was for pre-battle rather than post, then added those ink marks. Or, those ink marks are just random and were not put down with the intent to be blood. What do YOU think, Kom?  Ha, well I picked this illustration up from Glenn's table so it's purely his interpretation, but the way that I saw this scene is a little bit of both. One of his hands is wrapped and he is in the process of wrapping another one. DD is clearly battle weary so he could be jumping from one fight to another. |
