Glad you ended up with this! I've not seen it for 20 years. The background is from a photo I took while I was at Dynamic Forces for a week signing lithos and sketching. Good to see the painting again.

Had a blast drawing this one in a Kane style. The original is from an absolute classic cover run on Green Lantern, right up there with Cardy's Aquaman covers.
The ghostly effect was done with Copic marker. I drew the figure and then reversed the shadows using Adams for ref (with a bit of Grell thrown in from SLSH #203!). Hope that helps. Always liked the original cover for this one from the first time I saw it in ads back in the 1980's.
Been a while since I commented on CAF! This piece was a lot of fun to draw but it did take quite a while. Bolland is so precise and his linework so refined, it's pretty difficult to draw in that way, a great educational experience in trying however. It was fun to draw Duo in her wedding dress from SLSH 200 too. I do intend to colour all the issues in this series eventually.
Universo is actually a photo of my friend Scott. But he was posing as Ming at the time for a Flash Gordon commission I did! Hope that clears eveything up!
It was a long while ago that I did this piece. If I remember correctly I had each issue numbered as if the original Legion series had continued down to this day. However, that may be skewed now as I think I started drawing this series in early 2013! The intent was there to keep this as a continuation of the original Legion series though.
That's funny! I think the crossover with this series in chapter 17 of Multiplicity will be a pretty popular one!
The Earth 3-Supergirl is in the next issue. The Ultra Girl situation is a little compliated! The Earth 3 Supergirl is the younger self of the 21st Century Crime Syndicate member Super Woman. Just as Ultra Boy is the younger Ultra Man...so is the Earth 3 version of the Legion's Ultra Boy Superboy? And would Supergirl be related to him...? I'll figure it out, there are plenty of issues to go! I'll be posting the first issue on my blog with a teaser for issue 2.
It was the commissioner's choice. It was between Dr. Mid-Nite and Mr. Terrific! I used Sekowsky as the basis for most of the costume ref. The plan is to add logos and text digitally. Thanks for the comments Michael!
