It seems to me that in almost any book Neal penciled, you'll probably find some inks by him. Sometimes even full, uncredited pages like the wrap up of the Phantom Stranger issue he drew. There's definitely a lot of Adams inks in Superman/Muhammad Ali as Adams admitted in a Twomorrows interview a while back. To my eye, this panel looks like Giordano inks. Adams' classic fine lines were made with an old school Gillotte 290 pen made before they changed the formula(from an interview with Dave Sim).
Thanks, Will and Jovi. I believe the interiors on the story were Simonson inked by Giordano, but I haven't tracked the issue down. I loved it as a kid though!
I second Mr. McLeod's observation and noticed also noticed the same thing on the redone Deadman torso and head on page 17. Scott faithfully inked what was there in pencil, but Neal decided he wanted something different. In the case of the Deadman arm and torso, I like Neal's second pass at the anatomy better, but Scott did a brilliant job of inking what he was given.
I love the contributions Bob McLeod, as a veteran of the classic Continuity days, is making-- maybe Bob could interview Neal and Scott for an upcoming issue of Draw Magazine? Scott- thanks so much for sharing these before-and-afters. I'd love to see all the pages that you worked on. This is fun!
