I didn't love this one until I started looking at it in a different way... think STATUE and this one just comes to life!!
This piece was fun for a couple of reasons outside the piece itself 1) Before I clicked on the thumbnail, I kept trying and trying to figure out who it was. 2) I've never seen a fully rendered Kollins piece before... FANTASTIC!!
I'm not a big SUPERMAN fan, but it's this kind of work that makes me have to rethink things!! I love how the ENERGY halo around the Man of Steel is pure red and yellow, Superman's signature colors (minus the blue). Ari has a --- and I hate him for this --- uncanny knack, gift, whatever you want to call it for getting the best out of every artist for his commissions.
OMIGOD! I had no idea Steve Rude could color... and so well! This one really is a treasure Ari. I can't recall seeing a Rude-colored piece before. Plus, the pose and overall look is so iconic, the exact types of commissions, I love most from most artists.

This piece is BRILLIANTLY Batman! I especially love the JOKER and SCARECROW... I would collect Batman if Deodato was hired on to do the book on a monthly basis; especially if paired with a writer who knew how to exploit his talents.
I'm BIG into Green Lantern right now, so this piece is a real treat for me. It's also a great representation of Superman! All-in-all a very fortuitous buy from the Generations collection.
I'm truly sick and tired of Ari's luck in scoring PERFECT commissions!!! (smile) This is not my favorite Cap costume, but it is one of my favorite Cap drawings. I've always said JB is to drawing Captain America, what Curt Swan was to drawing Superman.
This is one of those PERFECT Thing drawings. Iconic in pose and attitude. This is something you get in the mail, open it up, and go "HOLY MOLEY --- he accidentally sent me something that was supposed to be published as a pin-up piece in an FF issue"!!
I want to see this colored (as it looks to be done in "coloring book" style) so badly it hurts my feelings! The Holy Trinity, I love it! His Superman and Wonder Woman are especially nice.
Awesome! I actually started collecting GL because of Ethan Van Sciver. I love his Bolland/Jimenez style. One could seriously argue that only Van Sciver should be allowed to draw the current incarnation of GL.
George absolutely LOVES Scarlet Witch, and every bit of that love shows through in this piece. I've seen tens of Perez Scarlet Witch headshots and this is the best one.
A look at the dark, brooding side of the Iconic JLA! And even though I usually don't picture them that way, for some reason (likey Deodato's MASTERFUL use of negative space and shadow) this works! They look like a team you would never, in a million years, want to mess with! But they don't look EVIL or anything. The JLA should never look evil or menacing.
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Wonder Woman! And this is one of JB's better representations of the Amazon Princess. She's fierce and glorious all at the same time. I love the background and the monsters as well. The only thing I would nitpick about is the hair; but then, that's something that is less than consistent with JB's female characters, particularly Diana. Utterly forgiveable on a great piece like this.
Obviously this commission is fantastic. It's DOOM being the penultimate DOOM. However, my favorite part has to be the little "D" at the apex of the globe. Only JB could think to do something so small, but so potent.
A truly excellent Spidey! If I had Ari's luck in buying commissions, and by that I mean getting commissions back that look SPOT-ON and "even better than one could have hoped for" --- I would buy more of 'em myself! Finances allowing of course, I do work for a nonprofit after all. This Spidey IS Spidey!
My feelings about this piece are well known; it IS the best HULK ever drawn, by anyone, anywhere, at any time, EVER! I love Hulk, and this is the quintissential Hulk in my book. Which makes me love it beyond just it's technical and aesthetic value.
One of the BEST Thor pics in a long, long time! Makes me want to give JB a shot at the THOR title on a monthly basis! I love the RAW ENERGY that comes from the drawing, particular from Thor's face and the hammer head.
Very intense, very un-Byrne-like Batman, which makes it all the more unique... and very Neal Adams's-ish. I like it.
Like your Byrne Hulk, this is easily the BEST Plastic Man ever drawn, by any artist, anywhere, at any time! I love the shiny look JB captured so perfectly. The spirit of Plastic Man is also obvious in the portrait!
