I have an artist setup the layout to keep the characters in scale.
Kenneth, the layout for this piece was done by Matthew Clark, who also contributed The Beast to this piece. This was all setup by Jerry Livengood at Serendipity Art Sales. Jerry had also setup the layout for my villains jam piece.
Dusty - The instal layout was done by Matthew Clark, who also contributed The Beast to this piece. Bug and Acroyear were always a part of this piece. It's 32 of my favorite heroes and I've always loved the Micronauts. Matthew had the can with Bug in the initial layout. Simonson is very hard to get, as I tried a number of times for him to contribute Darkseid to my villains piece with no luck. He's said I'd have to catch him at a smaller show, but I don't tend to see him anywhere but larger shows. Right now I'm thinking of trying to have Esad Ribic for Thor, but I'll see how it goes. I was able to get George Perez on the villains piece, but that was mainly due to having been on a commission list for another project. Normally at shows he just does head sketches, of which I've taken full advantage. I'll keep trying, but with something like this I tend to be very flexible with who's available.
Can't beat Jim Lee artwork, but always awesome to see a "lesser" character being done. Ra's is awesome and so is this piece!
WOW! This is really awesome! The whole design to it is great. The little bit of red for the rose broach, the phoenix in the background and the little bit of maniacal look on her face is just spectacular. Love It!
If you've ever have the opportunity to talk with Lee at a show, you'll find him to be one of the nicest people in this industry. I've dealt with Lee a number of times and for this piece I didn't even ask for him to do a specific character. He said he'd be interested in a few, so I said choose whichever one you want and knew he'd knock it out of the park.
Love Tone's stuff and a whole collection of villains...can't beat it!
So Cool! Prado has been turning out such great stuff. I'm a little torn. Part of me hopes he doesn't become the next superstar artist so I can still afford his artwork. Unfortunately the man is just too talented to not break through to the upper echelon of artists. Just love the whole design on this. The smoke effect, the crackling effect on the chest emblem and when i was looking close at it even love the lightning shaped designs on the wristbands. Congrats!
Wow...what a surprise! David Finch knocks another one out of the park! Love the concept. You know I'm a sucker for mixing and matching the universes and I always love seeing the bad guys with the upper hand. Congrats!!
This is pretty awesome. Can't wait to see it completed.
Love Dell'Otto's work. The colors really pops with the grey colored board versus the normal white. Really cool. Congrats!
Absolutely Gorgeous! Everything about this piece is awesome. A great example of why I've always loved Mr. Jusko's work. Congrats!!!
I missed out on getting Mark to add to this last year, so he was one of the two I went to NY looking to get. Spoke to him right away on Thursday to lock him up and he did not disappoint.
Really depends on who I can lineup. Had spoken to Walt Simonson last year at NYCC but the timing didn't work out. I see him on this year's list so I'll most likely ask again. If not I'll have to see. Would love to see if I could get John Byrne to add to this, but I heard he's not a big on doing jam pieces.
Sale does a great job with everything. The shading, the webbing that she's sitting on, even the little spider dropping down. Such a great piece. Congrats!
Such a great page. Congrats on acquiring your grail!
Very Nice. Loved the art from this entire series. Andrea's work seems to be very under-appreciated which is too bad. Would love to see more high profile work. Congrats!
Mike, The layout was done by Anthony Castrillo, which I had setup by Jerry Livengood at Serendipity Art Sales.
My all time favorite piece from Jim Lee's X-Men era. All those awesome villains in one piece. Absolutely Epic!
Hey Anthony, Added the updates to my CAF gallery. Your layout was a very big hit to every artist I spoke with at NYCC. I received a huge number of compliments about how well this was done. Thank You Again!
Hey Anthony, Wanted to thank you for the great job you did on this for me. It's been getting rave reviews from every artist I've spoken to at the New York Comic Con. I'll have some scans in some time next week. As of now I was able to get David Finch for Deathstroke, Mark Texeria for the Joker, Tim Sale on Solomon Grundy, Jim Calafiore for Bane, Tom Raney on Sabretooth and Sean Chen for Ultron. Left it with Jim Cheung while he works on Dr,. Doom and will hopefully be able to squeeze in one or two more before the show ends.
The best Juggernaut commission I've seen. No one draws the big characters better then McGuinness. Congrats!
Great Piece! Such a great story and Eaglesham did such a fantastic job while on this title.
Nice page. Tim did some great work on G.I. Joe and his rendition of Snake Eyes was always one of the best. Congrats.
Great piece. Always loved Booth's work with Backlash, Taboo and any of the Stormwatch characters. Congrats.
Awesome piece! Nice to see something that cool from a great storyline. Congrats!
Really nice. Loved Humberto's work from back when he drew DV8. Love his rendition of Colossus. Congrats!
AH...one of the ones that got away. I'm happy with the covers I was able to snag at that auction. Glad to see this one went to someone with such an impressive collection to appreciate it. Congrats!
Shame you had to give up another good piece to get this, but I can see why. I'd kill for a Miller piece as awesome as this.
Great page. Love Romita Jr's work. If I'd known this was available in an auction, I might have had to get into another bidding war with you. Congrats on a killer piece!
Great piece. Always loved Aparo's work and am a huge fan of the KGBeast.
