This is really good for your first try at it, Rich! Plus, you captured the likeness AND the expression!

Thanks Ruben! I tend to pick up things quickly, and this was a learning process. While working on it I was reminded of Basil Gogos Monster Magazine covers that had similar color schemes.

Well chosen stars background!  Like the show and the home release covers.

Thank you Marcus! The stars seems like appropriate background items to tie into the TV show, and the red makes the figure pop.

Thank you Rick! The eyes are the most important part of a portrait, where a viewer's attention should go first. Neal once told me that if you nail the eyes making a mistake elsewhere isn't as noticeable.

My favorite, of course, is Marlene Dietrich adjusting her bow tie. Except Seven, did he do them at cons? If so, the wall has many memories and is a testament to considerable time and effort at cons! I also like the arrangement on the wall. Are they in a particular order?

Four of the pieces were drawn in person at different shows. Marrah chose the arrangement based on how they balanced each other.

Amazingly detailed page from the peak of George's career! What often gets lost among all the detailed rendering is how far George's storytelling had come at this point. He was able to not only fit in 11 panels, no small feat, but utilized a myriad of camera angles to perfection! The second to last panel stands out to me, as he chose to go with the diagonal angle to show the action with great clarity. The story moves so flawlessly with the decisions he made. Congrats on finally being able to acquire this beautiful example of George's work! I'm glad it found its home in your collection!

The action lines of the flames and smoke give it an anime feel, while the elongation of the figure and cycle have a grafitti style feel to the piece.

Rich, this JG Jones Scarlet Witch painting is a top tier piece by Jones.  Simply outstanding.  Since I am just seeing this painting 2 years after you posted it, I just want to say I am sorry to hear about your father-in-law passing.  I too just lost my dad, however it was just this past year.  I don't know if you realize this, but you and I joined CAF within 1 month of each other and I did my very first trade deal with you as a fellow collector not too long after that.  It seems like a lifetime ago now. Time passes so quickly.  Anyway, congrats again on this beautiful piece Rich.

Hi Ross, great to hear from you, and thank you for the kind words. JG did amazing work on this piece, and even though I couldn't thank him at OAX that year, I was able to see him at another show a few months later. I still remember our first trade and I wish I still had that piece, it remains one of my biggest regrets having to sell it when I was laid off from my job years ago. But still one of the most treasured pieces I ever had the privilege to own.

Being a diehard Marvel fan, I really enjoyed George's pre-Titans Marvel works.  Like you and most others, I have a soft spot for those ten issues in his first Avengers run with Marcos inks.  When he came back for his second 7-issue run (around #200) with different inkers, it wasn't quite the same.  This is such a great page.  Love the Fury and Beast panels of course.

Like you, I loved the Marcos inked issues the most, the later run I didn't like as much. Although Rubinstein inked a beautiful issue in # 194.
