Awesome to know the provenance of a page like that. Im trying to get some more Silvestri stuff, from the early 90's but its pretty tough at current prices.
Yeah this one has a sketch on the back. Pretty sweet ot get a group of my heroes all on one page. Someday Ill get a Silvestri Wolverine, and Ill be content.
Yeah SanJ is a true magician with color placement for effect. In person you see all these little dabs of pinks and greens, which trick your eye into seeing browns. It is magic.
Its a Slippery slope Phillip, but its worth every second of the ride. Nice first piece.
OK after my next deadline I'll give it a go on a blueline.
I owned the pencils to the Marvel tryout book for years and didnt ink them. I may do a blueline for myself just to see what inking him is like. I've inked a few of his clones and guys similar to him, so I'd be curious what the results might be.
One of my favorite pages in this issue. I started figuring out new and better ways to do grey tone effects on this AV Spidey story.
I like that the sweat shoppers are doing legit work, but the bunnies arent. Thats good funny.
It was great to meet you the other day! Glad this page found a great home!
One of my favorite HM covers. I think it was the first one my LCS owner would let me buy as I just turned 18. :D
All these are for sale. This issue she gets a new costume on page 20. This sequence with her throughout the issue also has rain overlays on Tracing Vellum.
Thanks Fred! I love working with Leonard for that same reason. His "acting skills" are stronger than most of the studs out there.
Thanks Guys, This is from one of the issues where I started really thinking about doing comics. Portacio's work really inspired me.
I think the last thing Havok is expecting when he gets a call that his brothers just been locked up for Attempted Genocide is a water balloon to the face! :D I cant wait to read 246...
You finally got it! I knew at some point this would be a fixture at Casa de Townsondecker!
It looks to be pretty clearly Walt. If it was Klaus the bolder strokes in the metal would be dryer, and the machinery would be far less clearly defined.
Nino's work is amazing. The one I have from Itutuloy is amazing and he was truely a nino at the time.
Yeah thats impressive. Stuart really rocked it!
I dont know whats more maddening: The fact that this painting is so awesome or the fact that I'm broke so I cant afford to buy it. :D

This one is by RV Valdez. He was Andy Park's assistant & now works in video games.
Oclair is easier to read & easier to color over. Some of the stuff Campos was doing, nobody can duplicate. Marc is better suited to black & white.
I forgot to turn off the FS thing on my personal collection. I'll fix that now.
Hi Malvin, I'm glad you still have this one. When I set up my new studio, I will post my Heat cover from Ikigami. Still sad I had to let this one go. :(
Dougie is doing the work of a lifetime right now & this is a highlight. Nice pick up Mike.
