It was a pleasure and a challenge , thank you. Inspiration counts for a lot - I had mixed feelings about the gruesome aspect of the theme as juxtaposed with my favorite childhood ( beloved!) Ozians, but it was too cool an idea to pass up - The boy in me prefers to think of these “trophies” as awaiting rescue in some as-yet-to-be written chapter of a forgotten tale...

they do exist, for sure, and unfortunately, many of them are editors... its humbling, actually, to know you arent the cats pajamas with everyone.

I got so much flack for this cover- because I didn't show the full figures in space... I was really happy with it, but I don't know, you cant please everyone. the 'BI'z was very popular back then, so if it wasn't a Lobo by Simon, it was 'crap' ! so your comments just about made my day, Dave, thanks!

the finished piece will be more finished drawing, it wont look like this one at all- I was kind of doodling to get a feel for costume and look, etc.. but it was nice enough I felt I could let it go. Not all prelims are worth seeing : )

Thank you, Alkis. it was a commission- the original owner told me it sat in his closet for a year, until he decided to sell it on e bay- he sold it for a little over 700.00 ( he paid several times that for it) to a collector I know who later told me he would never sell it and he was very happy to have it. If Id known it was on ebay Id have bought it back myself. It remains one of my personal favorites.
