Two of my favorite artists on one page. Owned by one of my favorite humans.
Gomer Pyle #1 is all Tufts, pencils, inks and lettering! :)
A lot of us were slow to realize that Tufts was a terrific cartoonist! I love this page!
You're welcome. The deadline was an issue so José inked a few pages at the end of that book. I don't remember exactly how many but I think he also inked page 21.
I wish I could take credit for it but I think this page was inked by José Luis Garcia-Lopez.
I definitely love his art but boy, his style really creeped me out when I was a kid. Of course now I consider that a real accomplishment.
Love the art on this one. It's funny to see the whiteout in the credits. Looks like Stan had it redone so that he got top billing over the guy who wrote and drew the story. Hah!
Beautiful! Frank Faylen's tongue sticking out in the first panel is hilarious!
Thanks, Scott! And thanks, Eric, for including me in that list. My three favorite Kane inkers were Gil himself, Russell and Ralph Reese. But there are also some beautiful stories inked by Wrightson, Wood, Palmer, Adkins, Severin and Janson out there.
Thanks Ruben. I think I have one more page from this story stashed away. I'll try to post it later.
