I had a very similar experience with this title. And it was the work that finally clicked with me for DWJ. Such a thoughtful storyteller and you can see how he grows with each project.
You did great work in 90 minutes! And I love how Daniel kinda tied them together with Doc Oc. Very cool.
Hi Jason,
Please let me know if you have any interest in owning this page and reuniting it with yours. I love it, but am going through a tough spot and need to shed a few pages to help keep the lights on. Send me a message if interested. Thanks!
Tell us more about this please! Was this a commission or a persons piece? I LOVE LOVE LOVE the green lagoon and chatted with Josh at Wondercon about it. I commissioned him to design another themed tiki mug for me and he designed a Nightcrawler one. A drink so strong, Bamf!, you wake up someplace strange and new.
I love how pleased Reed looks here, like he just cracked a problem.
Dear Santa,
I want a Ghost Rider Tractor Hot Wheel for Christmas.

10-4. If I see even a funny looking recycling bin up to any funny business, I'll let you know.
Thank you! and great point. I didnt get to meet her in person at the show she was at, but someday hope to and chat more about this piece and what it all meant to her.
I love that he's just hanging in his office reading a book of poetry.
My favorite rendition of Superman.
Me too. I know there are many great flavors of X-books, but that one hit me in all the right ways.
Oh cool! Curious, who inked yours? Scott Koblish did this one but Bob Waicek got the credit on the title page.
The design work on the page here is incredible, and I love that jet too! Now that you mention it, where can we get a Challenger Mountain playset to sit next to my Castle Greyskull, Batcave, and USS Flagg?
It stops me in my tracks every time I turn to it in my portfolio. We all know what it's like to doodle with a ball point pen, so to me, this is magic.
If this isnt the official theme song for the show, I'm cancelling my D+ subscription.
Also, bravo, this piece is gorgeous. the thick paint! Must be a site to behold. Curios how large is it?
This Wil E Coyote moment always makes me laugh. Fantastic comedic timing and a great panel of Nova. Ed draws that costume best!
Idea!! Someone needs to get Alex to do a Monster Squad Piece!
Alex hits those retro vibes incredible well, highlighting each character wonderfully. I love how he chose to do the layout too. This also made me want to put these old movies on in the background while I work today. Great piece!
Thanks Marcus. I love how even his digital work he seems to bring in little touches that feel organic. But nothing beats the physical thing. You can see and feel the layers on this piece. Finger prints in the whiteout. I love it.
Love studying all those faces in the bar. And hard agree, if I could get a FM SC page it would have to be from Hard Goodbye!
Everything in this drop was phenomenal but I really adored the incredibles pieces. Congrats!
I agree! Tom hasnt missed a beat. His interior page work is also still top notch!
Darwyn and Eisner converging. What a perfect pair!
I'll echo what Marcus said here. The effects work is SO good!! Clean and kinetic.
Oh I love venomsaurus! I have page 20 just a litter later in the book. Great, fun design, and made perfect story sense with Dylan in control.
Great page! I love Matteo's art too, and have been hesitant to do the artist proof route... But I think the idea of the artist doing a physical sketch to go along with the AP is a great idea. Were you able to talk to him directly about it or did you go through his rep?
Love this! Lolli does his page work digitally, I believe, so this is one of the few physical renditions of his work on these characters. This has been my favorite of the current era X-Books. Congrats!
Thanks! Its got tone for days! I lose myself just studying this one. Love it.
Thank you so much. It was a really impressive issue and this page just hit me in the right spot. Very lucky to give it a home.
Thank you. And yeah I can stare at that city scape and the light effects all day.
Thanks! And will do. You've got quite an impressive God of Thunder collection yourself!
I had the same feeling about the animated show when looking at these pages. Got my eye on a couple to hopefully pick up soon.
Thanks for the kind words Jason! I was a little nervous giving that much of a creative brief to someone as seasoned Mr Lieber; and normally keep my requests to character and maybe costume. But a year ago I was really loving both Strange Adventures and Jimmy Olsen; and Mitch Gerads worked in the detail to SA that Jimmy took the author photos for Adam Strange's memoir, so, I asked Steve what he imagined happened at that photoshoot, and this was the result. It is my favorite commission from 2020.
I loved his JC! Great sketch! Would love to find some of the original pages someday.
This is an insanely cool composition, I need to dig this issue up for a re-read.
Thank you. You're right, even though it's fast and loose, you can spot it as him from across the room.
I love her take on Barda's armor. After seeing your commission, I asked for soemthing similar when I was able to get on her list.
thanks! I see you've met him for some sketches before, thats so cool! Hope to get more from him one day. Love his ink wash work.
I love the story here. Cooke's design. might be my all time favorite version of the character. Your gallery though is a good place for me to research that theory ;-)
Thanks Anthony! I think this is lil looser than some of his other peices, but you're right n about the energy, and this whole page krackles. This and the Red Sonja are my favorites I have from him (so far)
Thank you! I'm excited to read part 3 later this week. Apparently the isse sold complete, sight unseen!
