My late friend Renzo Cenci started in the field of movie poster art in 1958, working for Studio Riccardo Battaglia, and all his first movie posters, The Guns of Navarone + many others, and first Crime-book covers was signed always "Studio Bat".
After studio Battaglia he worked with Adelchi Serafini and with Maro ( Mauro Innocenti) where he learned more about the best way to use the colors. For over 15 years ha was the assistant of Renato Casaro and for other 12 years assistant of Enzo Sciotti. With Sciotti he painted a great lot of movie poster as I Picari, il Siciliano, Il Bar dello Sport, Something of Blonde (with SOPHIA LOREN) etc , he painted also a great number of covers for adult's pocket comics like "La Schiava" and "Pig". In his latest years he painted mainly portraits of people from the Sport World, especially football-players of the ROMA team.
PER COLORO CHE ANCORA NON LO SANNO, RENZO CENCI, ERA CHIAMATO ANCHE IL "CARAVAGGIO di SAN LORENZO" (il quartiere romano dove lui viveva)
