Claudio Castellini absolutely nailed it here. The way he defines the "plates" with those crisp, bold lines gives Ben a massive sense of weight and power without losing that iconic silhouette. This specific issue of The Incredible Hulk was one of my absolute favorites as a kid. It served as my first introduction to Sasquatch, and honestly, I’ve always thought he was one of the coolest-looking characters in the Marvel Universe. Thanks, Paul. It is definitely one of my favorite pieces by Rob in my collection.
I agree. It’s fun to imagine John’s reaction. I know he was always very particular about who inked his work, so I’d love to know what he would think of Rob’s approach.
I had a chance to chat with Rob, and it was great to hear him break down his style. While he acknowledged the John Buscema influence people often see, he actually credits Victor de la Fuente as his biggest inspiration.
I wasn’t that familiar with de la Fuente’s work at first, but after looking him up, the influence is obvious. You can really see it in the gritty texture and the way he uses heavy, expressive line work. It gives the art a raw, European feel that goes beyond the classic Buscema look.
I appreciate that Paul. This is one I want to get framed. There is a lot going on here.
Thanks T. It is amazing in person.
This is an incredible piece—owning a Bernie Wrightson original must be a dream come true. The mastery of light and shadow here is unmistakable.
This piece goes from a standard "warrior in the woods" to something much more sinister. The way Gerardo used the negative space between the trees to form that massive, predatory face is brilliant.

I love the storytelling here. The contrast between the wide, desolate landscape and the tight, intimate close-ups of the sword and helm really highlights Roberto’s pacing. That bottom panel of the brooding Cimmerian is as iconic as it gets. It’s quiet, heavy, and incredibly evocative.
This page is an absolute tour de force. To have Page 11 from the debut issue of this historic run is incredible, but the content here is just next-level. This isn't just a comic page; it’s an epic saga captured in ink.
What an absolute monster of a page! This captures everything that makes Roberto the definitive modern Conan artist. The transition from the visceral, close-quarters combat in the middle panels to that haunting, wide-angle 'aftermath' shot at the bottom is masterfully done.
Roberto’s storytelling is in top form here—the way he captures the chaotic, gritty violence of a Cimmerian skirmish is second to none.
The close-up panel in the center is pure perfection; it captures that classic 'Buscema-esque' intensity while maintaining De La Torre's own unique, ink-heavy texture. The contrast and the sheer kinetic energy across these panels are breathtaking. A monumental addition to your gallery!
A total powerhouse of a piece that honors the Buscema legacy while feeling fresh and visceral. Huge congrats on this pickup!

Nic Klein really leans into the "horror" side of the Hulk here, and it is spectacular! The level of detail in the cavern walls—all those skulls and grotesque textures—creates such a claustrophobic, eerie energy.
The textural work here is next level. Klein’s use of heavy blacks and fine inking creates such a moody, oppressive atmosphere. That silhouette panel in the bottom tier is a masterclass in visual storytelling. A standout page from a definitive modern run.
