Wow! Incredible first panel, Looks better in the original black and white than the published colorized page
It is a very early Dondi strip. Dondi was first published by the Chicago Tribune and New York News. The first episode of the strip ran on September 25, 1955. He was a 5 year old in that strip and Dondi ran until 1986. So after 31 years he wss quite an old little boy!
Nice acquisition Jason. KWAKA-PWOOM!! Says it all. The mighty Thor will not be denied!
Thanks for the back story. I think its just a great piece. I love his work. I also understand that every once in a while one needs to thin out the collection. I am glad you decided to part with this one!

Glad that you like it.. I just posted his Captain America piece. Wait until you see his color scheme. Take a look and see what you think. I also reached out to Zakuro Aoyama and look forward to speaking with him. Thank you for the information on how to get in touch!
I didn't immediately spot the Joker peeking in from the side. That was a nice touch!

This piece of art just blew my mind. I never saw anything like it. I love the unique style and will look for other work by this amazing artist. Wow!
Agreed, any artist will have some inspired works that far outshine their others. This of course is somewhat subjective based upon one's individual taste. That being said I fully agree that this piece stands out and was definitely a moment of inspiration. I also love the profile pose, the position of the crossbow and as alwaysSturats use of light and dark. Thank you for your comment!
The only thing that is more amazing about this cover is the fact that there are not hundreds of comments on it. I guess everyone has just been left speechless!
Really nice double page by the Dream Team!
I was amazed as to how hooked I became on this story line. This piece is a wonderful homage that honors and respects both Tsugumi Ohba (artist) and Takeshi Obata (writer). I would love to see more.
What a cool idea. I should commission a version with JSA with Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig
Arantza is fabulous and so is this piece. I don't know if you first saw her work on my site or not but either way I am glad that you discovered Arantza Sestayo and added one of her works to your. Collection!

Great example of Mignola Hellboy art. Fantastic action page.
This image is so hot I am surprised that the page didn't spontaneously combust. You should post a picture of your model!
Thank you for sharing your art of Gisele Lagace. She does a great job with Sabrina
Nice piece of strip art. Thank you for translating (Swedish?)I am assuming that "Doda Dom" is the term for killing. It has an interesting ring to it its not quite the same but in a weird way reminds me of "Doctor Doom"
Great double page splash. Incredible inking job. Only wish we had a scan of the original pencil work to look at. Super pick up. Congrats
Nice! I can't believe that they didn't publish this one.
Great cover! Tombstone always reminded me of a very scary Lee Marvin.
Lee Weeks does fantastic work and this is a great addition for your collection.
This is an amazing piece of comic art or should I just say art. The composition is fantastic
My least favorite of the Bianchi Batman covers was the portrait of Robin. I would have used this one instead but I am sure that the Robin fans would disagree
That is a great observation. It would appear that the knee is up under the cape. He may have a leg up on the base of the column as well. The shadows in the wrap of his cape make it difficult to be certain but I agree with your comment
Its hard to believe that this is only the preliminary. It is perfectly complete in its own right. Whelan's work is amazing. Some of his art reminds me of Magritte and then another piece looks inspired by Hieronymus Bosch. You look at this art and want to talk to her!
