When i was little this page really worried me because i thought it looked like the red and the green in panel 2 were actually touching, thus indicating it was time to blow up the Earth((s)).
Oh. My. Gawd. Joe Giella was my favorite inker who didn't ink Kirby. The Dillin-Giella team is among my all-time favorites. I am less enthusiastic about Dillin-Greene or Dillin-McLaughlin.
I always enjoyed this issues, too. This was the second JLA/JSA team-up i had ever read.
Dillin had those long, claustrophobic panels of dubious perspective...i liked it, it seems to increase the tension.
Does anyone have any background on how/when/why these pieces were created? They didn't appear in the 1970 issue of PRO! where NFL linebackers were likened to Marvel characters...
