Thanks for your comments! I think I'm going too have to remove this from the original "Circle Fine Art" frame to examine this piece up close. The zipatone is in good shape. I wonder though about a pre-printed title that has likely mat/burn/fade along the top border. Best, David
Nicely done, great collaboration with artist and collector! Best, David
Hi Timothy, I picked this up on ebay from someone who had it for a long time. i messaged him to please not end the auction early, since the final result might surprise him! I paid around $400, a lot for me, so it is a key in my collection. Thanks for your remark, David
Thanks Mark, I was working on some scanning and decided this would be a good test! I love the imagery. I also have the next POGO daily, July 4, 1960, and I'll try to get that up here. I appreciate your comment. David
I know, great line up of characters and artist, right? Thanks for the nice comment, David
Covers rule, and this is a beauty!
Thanks for the comment Steve, you have some great stuff in CAF! Spark Man is excellent right here in his hero attire. Best, David
Very cool cover! Nice imagery works well as a stand-alone art piece, regardless of whether it is "comic art". Best, David
Very nice! I believe Giacoia was the inker on the original cover, only because I actually have it and there is pencilled art credit on the art that doesn't appear on the published comic book. Best, David S. Albright
A pleasure, Ron! You have a great gallery room! I got into strip art when I was discovering the origins of the comic book. The first books being mainly newspaper strip reprints, of course. Thanks for checking this out. Best, David
Thanks, Jerome! I see you also have a Superman daily from this period. It really is nice to see these right up close, and CAF is great about good quality images. Best, David
I had the same feeling when I bought one of these, to the point where I asked for a refund. He was willing to oblige, but continued to insist that it is all original art. Obviously, he uses some sort of reproductive aid like a lightbox, but I eventually took his word and kept mine. In any case, very cool image with a considerable amount of time involved.
