Gorgeous art by Tillie Walden for the anthology "Wonder Woman Black and Gold." Tillie's art isn't the usual style of a Wonder Woman book, but it does give us a woman's perspective on the character of Diana Prince. I find her approach interesting and would love to see more of it. Great pick-up, congrats! ![]() Many thanks, Bill. It is extremely interesting indeed to see Tillie's style translated to the superhero genre. |

I love how the enveloped in ink this page is. It helps visualize just how scary it must be for a young child to be lost in the woods all on their own. I love how she's shown coming out of the darkness and into the light of her mother's love. The meaning I infer from this page probably makes it my favourite one of the story! ![]() Many thanks, Rubén. This is so perfectfully put, my friend. |

What a nice coincidence. Tillie Walden came up in conversation on this past Sunday's Hang Out episode! A very nice looking story indeed, CAB. As someone who has long espoused how much more enjoyable the hobby can become when collectors make the decision to stretch their horizons, you are always the first person I think of when the topic comes up. You are in my mind, the quintessential example of it. Kudos! ![]() Many thanks, Rubén, as always, for your very kind words. This is a really nice story with great artwork from an artist who probably also stretched her horizons in writing and drawing this story. |

Really enjoyed the innovative panel/page design and imagery throughout the 8 pages. The only word bubbles in the entire story being "Diana" and "Mom" really brought a lot more importance to those scenes/lines with emotional weight. Over it's a nice self contained Wonder Woman story from a modern book with a unique art style. A cool way of expanding collecting horizons! ![]() Many thanks, Kavi, for taking the time and trouble to go through the story and (as always) for your very perceptive observations. I am indeed very glad to expand my collecting horizons while still loving what is nostalgic for me as well. It is not "either-or" but "and". |

congrats on adding the story! Right away the artwork draws you in and as you mentioned is fairly self explanatory as to what's going on and easy to follow. ![]() Many thanks, Kavi. The artwork is really very nice and it is difficult to believe that the artist did very little (if any) superhero artwork. But, then again, I think that the character resonated with her. |

If you weren't a Fables fan before hopefully this piece helps make you one because it is such a great series/read filled with awesome characters, dialogue, storytelling...and of course, art! Beautiful illustration of the two core characters who make up the heart of the story. Good on you for adding a piece inspired by source material you were not an expert on so the funds would go to a good cause. Jiggy and his artists create a real friends and family environment within their group and with their fellow fans and collectors whether it be at shows or just in the manner which they interact online as well. A FABLES HALLOWEEN by Mark Buckingham (Endless Trick 'r Treat) Owner: Matt Kennedy Comment posted on 8/18/2025
Matt Kennedy said:
I didn't expect such a fast turnaround so I think Mark must have really enjoyed the concept and prioritized this over other pending commissions. But it was not without complication. I was never notified that my commission idea was accepted, and so there was no downpayment nor due date. That put me on the spot to get it paid-in-full within three days — with no prior notice —when I got a text on Wednesday advising that the piece was complete and ready for pick-up at SDCC that weekend. I was able to convince Joseph to accept a paypal payment since I wasn't in San Diego, and thereafter arrange the complicated hand-off process described above. Stressful but worth it. ![]() Dear Matt, and that is why when an art rep (like Joseph) is solid and reliable, it is much less risky. It bears mentioning again that is so well done! |

A FABLES HALLOWEEN by Mark Buckingham (Endless Trick 'r Treat) Owner: Matt Kennedy Comment posted on 8/18/2025 The ideas for the commission were innovative and the artistic execution of the highest standard. Have to get my few words in on Erics description and your considered response. As you said, and he said, it's not overpaying if you have no regrets. I have stuff that I will never get my money back on but I do not care. There are very few things that make you happy. Glad you enjoy your collection for the pleasure it brings you. Wish you guys lived in Ireland so I could get to see your collections in person. ![]() Unfortunately, Peter, there are some individuals who are just negative and/or plain envious. It is also always very easy to tear down but very difficult to build up. I have seen even physical buildings torn down in a heartbeat but it takes months to construct a new building. It's best though to be positive and just hold one's peace if there is nothing positive to say. It doesn't help that because original comic art has become so expensive, a lot of focus is on the material rather than the sense of wonder that is so essential to the hobby. Everyone says how beautiful Ireland is and I plan to visit one day. |

Doctor Strange by P Craig Russell (from The Marvel Comics Limited Edition Superhero Print Series 1986 - see additional images) Owner: E DLS Comment posted on 8/13/2025 This is a beautiful piece and so emblematic of the artists's work as well. Doctor Strange is not an easy character to do well as it requires the right depiction, artistically, of the atmospherics as well. If there is one person who has been criticized for overpaying, it is me (even though the critics often didn't realize I was the owner). But what matters is that the artwork concerned matters - to you. Whatever it cost, I know that it means more to you than any material valuation. Many congrats, Eric. |
