Great Sal page! Yes, that opening transformation panel is what you get a page like that for. But the progression and storytelling of the fight scene is excellent. The scene-setting second panel is key, and the poses are pure drama. Love it!

Many thanks, Paul. You are indeed entirely correct in pointing out that the rest of the page is wonderful too.

This is an incredible piece in so many ways. It relates to a well-loved character in British comics and the great BB's first ever cover to boot. You have the British equivalent of what would be considered a priceless cover of a significant American title. And, to think that 2000AD continues to this very day! Many congrats, Paul!

Sekowsky's compositions and faces were always so wild. He was perfect for Metal Men. The viewing angle in the last panel is just superb, showing the screen put up by Lead and all the faces of the other team members really being squeezed to the edge of the panel. Nice page.

Many thanks, Paul. Yes, given the time at which it was drawn, the design as well as perspectives were incredible and way ahead of their time.

I can only say that as Metal Men pages go, this one is of very high content quality. So many team members and the consistent horizontal panel design throughout gives it great eye appeal.

Many thanks, Rubén. The design of the page is indeed unusual and is probably in order to permit a view of all the members (especially in the middle panel).

Super stuff. You really do have some good 'toys' in your collection. I used the word toys because like old toy collectors this is amongst the most nostalgiac of collecting fields. Wait till you read my weepy description of a piece of artwork I have recently managed to snag but not uploaded as its not yet in my sweaty (from excitement) paws. I was told that none of the artwork from the story still existed by a later friend of the artist. Guess at least one escaped.

Many thanks, Peter. And I am very happy for you. It must be especially pleasing to obtain such a nostalgic piece which you once thought was lost forever.
