Wow, awesome. The sketched prints were hard to come by, congrats. :-)
This collaboration is just perfect, something a kid in the late 1960s or early 1970s could only dream of.
Awesome, good times, magical times even.
I abolutely love Joe's work, also his way to stepping up the inking game in general, by mixing varnish into the ink to make it not only black but super black?? Legendary.
Also the Tomb Raider 1 cover is inked flawlessly, I always appreciate the care being put in by you guys.
Yeah, it wasn't too bad, even for back then. It was just right in my budget, a bit more though and I would have been out of the race...
Good to read that you could put the funds towards something not only nice but special. The Frazettas were more affordable but still out of my reach, even back then.
Many thanks fou YOURS. :D
Had almost let this thing go a while ago and am glad I did not. Every time I see it, I sob, and beg it for forgiveness, for having a brief weak moment.
Yeah, I can relate. When this became available to me I knew it was a once in a lifetime opportunity and have let go some true gems from my collection to make this happen. For instance a 1985 original Nintendo NES advertising display with lights and moving parts. Also all of my signed Michael Turner prints with low numbers (like 2/75). Plus other stuff and funds to make it happen, for me it was still worth it. It is right now lent to a museum here in Germany and will be in the next by the end of this year, as another museum has inquired about it.
Hey John, I always thought I had replied to your comment. Well, I guess almost 10 years later it is still not "too late" :D
Let me tell you it does not often happen that your heart is beating to the max when a package arrives. Thank you again for packing it well. The page still excites me like on the first day.
Now it is lent to a museum and will most probably travel to the next by the end of this year.
Thank you, Michael. Will do a updated gallery for this piece soon.
The back story to this piece is the true star here, congrats first for such a wife and then for this awesome piece.
Waited on mine 3 years and pulled the plug. Even though I paid the piece in full in advance (a couple of grand), he could not tell me where I was on the list and was taking longer and longer to reply.
Congrats for finally getting it. :)
Nice, congrats on this nice piece. I had my eye on it when I saw it at the booth of CC in Como. A cool piece to have.
Thanks, Raj. And yes, I will. Although it will take a gooood while until that happens. It will be displayed in a museum here in Germany (NRW Forum, Düsseldorf) for about 9 months.
And now it is mine. Thanks for parting with it in the first place. *None of us would have a collection if nobody sold anything.
It will take me less than a year, they will go to a exhibition and THEN I will have the right lighting and everything to make proper pictures and post them. The paintings are tucked away, literally burried in my collection.
IC is so underrated. Congrats. :-)
Thanks a lot Casey, the downside to this piece is that it scratched a itch so well that I never felt the urge to get more JSC after this, it was my third and last JSC, since 2012. And that feels strange to write, as there is never enough JSC you can lay your eyes on. :-)
Super sweet. In fact so sweet that it should have a warning on it for being lethal to diabetics. :-D
Congrats on this giant piece, worthy of a frame and a nice place in the living room.
Same thing here, as I do not have a SAFE display space, it is tucked away to not get
kocked down or anything, by young and/or clumsy family members.
That way it stays fresh to the eye for me as well. Hope I can get it into a exhibition again
at some day in the future to see it hung in a proper environment and light.
Thanks Bill. JSC knows what he's doing. :D
Congrats, KC's best work was on this title. Still have the books.
