Now this is the kind of Batman comic art I've been wanting to see for a long time. Marc has said for years he has a Batman story to tell, well if anyone at DC is reading: NOW would be the time to get Silvestri to draw it! Holy gosh! This is the best Batman cover of the decade! Congratulations is in order, 4 years is one heck of a wait but Marc delivered a knock out.Would love to see the thumbnail progressions of this modern masterwork. ![]() Thanks Thomas. Marc indeed loves drawing Batman, and by golly I sure hope DC approaches and gives him the opportunity one day to work his magic on the series. We can only hope. The thumbnail progressions should be on his website and on facebook. He posted them their. |

Congrats on a fantastic commission! Pencils by Marc is one thing, but that's some phenomenal inking work by him too. Now I'm looking even more forward to the day my name comes up on his commission list... ![]() Thanks Kin. It was indeed a most pleasant surprise to learn after the piece was done that Marc did the inking himself. Truly masterful. Good luck on you comm when it's your time :) |

Whoa-- this is cool. Love how Talia looks. Very sexy!!! Congrats Yehoy!!!! ![]() Thanks Joe. Originally we were thinking of having the roles reversed (Batman resurrecting from the pit w/ Talia watching) to get a full body shot of Talia. I think this version was the better choice ;) |

Wooooooooooooooooooooow ! Congrats for this breathtaking commission ! Silvestri clearly spent many hours on this incredible piece. ![]() Thanks Alex. Indeed he did. By all accounts from his team, he really enjoyed working on this one (then again, I'm sure he enjoys working on all his pieces). I know he went though alot during the four years, so I'm really thankful he was able to work on it when time allowed and getting it done. |

Emma Frost 'The White Queen' - by Greg Hildebrandt Owner: Yehoy Lee Comment posted on 1/3/2013

For preservation purposes, you should put it behind UV glass. The paints will fade over time, especially if it is exposed to any kind of sunlight. The UV glass will help prevent this. Also the painting should not be mounted, but there is an archival way to do this with acid free corners and such that can hold it secure. It's the way that museums do it. I had a really terrific framer that took many classes and taught me a lot about it but unfortunately they retired with almost no notice last year. I wouldn't go to the big chain framing stores for this kind of work. ![]() Great advice Steve. The archival corners were an option, bu I went with the archival Japanese paper "tape" mounting method which barely touched the back of piece, but surprisingly held everything in place pretty nicely. Your friend's advice is top notch and highly recommended for anyone that wishes to frame their painted pieces the proper way (museum archiving). :) |

In a single image, a penciller cancels 40 years of stories where these women has been described as focused, intelligent, independant and strong-minded. I feel sorry for people who like women, even characters from comic books to be reduced to DDD bodies. ![]() I guess you must feel sorry for a lot of people then. Art of characters is a reflection of an artists depiction of said characters. If you don't like it, that's fine, you're entitled to your opinion. Not everyone likes every artists style/work. I guess you don't like Maxim or any SI swimsuit issue either. |
