Absolutely STUNNING!!!

Thank you, Hart, for your kind words complimenting the Barry daily strip in one of my galleries. It is, by far, the best Barry artwork I was able to collect on Flash Gordon during the time I was adding a lot of art to my collection. One day I may decide to sell this strip (protected, in excellent condition), so if you are interested, please let me know. There are three panels in the strip....the first one shows a number of people gathered in a meeting. If you would like for me to email you a full jpeg image, I can do that if you provide your email address. Take care, Austin Gray

Very lovely. I can see that you are a fan of Flash Gordon, so it's nice that you have been able to obtain a couple of pieces by Al Williamson. IMHO, he was the definitive Flash Gordon artist after Alex Raymond himself.

Thank you again, Ben, for your kind words. Yes, Al Williamson was, by far, my favorite comic artist from the 1960's through the time of his last works. I was able to acquire a copy of his "Sketchbook" by Vanguard Press about 20 years ago, and I believe this sketch was published in it. If I am mistaken about that, I know the sketch you see in my galleries (marked "some nudity") was definitely in the "Sketchbook". He brought to life for these wonderful characters, and I still treasure all 37 issues of the comic which was first published in 1966 and ended in 1982.

Wow! This is beautiful! I never knew that Jeffrey Jones had worked on Flash Gordon. I see he was a good fit for the character.

Ben, I wish you had the comic itself - issue #13 - so you could slowly turn the pages and be able to see what a magnificent job he did with this story. Since Charlton was the publisher, the color is not as high quality as it was when King published the first copies, but it is still a great comic. I was very fortunate to acquire this very rare page many years ago, and Jeffrey was kind enough to sign it for me (his "J" in the box is not shown in the photo since this is the auction photo). You are right about his style being a good fit for the character. Thank you again.

Very beautiful page ! Congrats !

Thank you for your compliment, Jean Andre Macchini. This is, by far, my most popular piece of comic art I've ever owned. Made even more special by the fact Jeffrey Catherine agreed to sign it for me after I bought it (his "J" initial in the box does not show in this photo). His genius will certainly continued to be missed, but what an amazing legacy he left behind. Thank you again, Austin Gray

Captures the very essence and power of Martin's masterpiece. Here, you help us enter the Northern kingdom of the Starks with their direwolves. Absolutely love it...and the colored version even more!!!

Thanks, Rob. Since Jeffrey Catherine Jones has moved more recently from drawing and painting to sculpture, I was lucky to have had this done. Anyone who doesn't know the story of Jones and the impact she's had on the world of comic/fantasy art, just look Jeffrey Jones up on the Internet! Some consider her work over the past 40 years in the same category as Frank Frazetta and the like.

My favorite of all your Cho artwork. Her gaze...and posture...are breathtaking! Thanks Ray.
