The lack of interior linework on the body didnt matter too much anyway since most of those DC Direct McGuinness figures used the same bodies. Really cool to see though since I've only seen the model sheets for the Aquaman and Wonder Woman figures.

Yeah, that anecdote you mention about biz spilling the ink is from Alan Grant's forward in The Intense Art of Simon Bisley book by Verotik. None of these awesome sketches were in there tho.
Also this was used as the frontispiece for Bisley's Scrapbook that was published by Atomeka Press in the mid 80s.
This (along with 2 other pages of studies) was printed in the Lobo: Last Czarnian trade paperback that came out in 1991. Nice to finally see it online!

A much more interesting design than the generic bearded god that made it into the comic.
This did end up getting published actually. A cropped version with the background elements blacked out was used for ads for Lobo's Back.
I believe Bisley was commissioned to do the painted colors years after the comic was published.
sorry you werent happy with the hulk piece. wouldve wished oyu had said something before we completed the transaction as it would've been no problem to correct it. -d
