Detective Comics #598 (Batman) Pg 19 By Denys Cowan & Dick Giordano Owner: Jeff Jaworski Comment posted on 7/6/2008 Denys & I sold these pages to a Toledo comic shop in person called "Kings" comics while In town for a taping of The Bruiser Belam TV show( I wrestled for the WWA in the late 80's-early 90s. Denys sometimes manged. He can be clearly seen in the front row/ringside of the TV show when it aired)... So you got 'em once removed from him unless the "Kings" sold them to another shop. We sold these while Batman was HOT OFF the 50th Anniversary. Great to see them again...Thanks |

Angel Gabriele - Purgatori & Catwoman Toast Owner: Kat Taca Comment posted on 6/23/2008 There may not be an artist specified, but this commission was done by me, Angel Gabriele, as seen by the signiture, for Kat G...I remember it well, because as I was working on it, on 4/16/08, I got a call that my brother passed from a heart attack en route from California to Indiana, to stay with me on a visit for my mom's 84th birthday, on 4/21/08. I have no idea why she didn't credit me. |

Deathlok By Denys Cowan, Angel Gabriele, & Jeff Newman Owner: Jeff Jaworski Comment posted on 6/16/2005 Wow! If I remember right, this was on large size bleed paper, and was actually, an unused version of the splash page to the Deathlok Mini Series Book 4, which Denys penciled the last 2 issues of. We did it production line style on one of Denys' many trips to my Indiana studio. He finished it up, I gave it a basic ink, Jeff airbrushed it, and I hit it again with final inks. Musta been about 1988 or 89, I haven't seen it in years! Still looks good, we did a few such collaborations back then. Thanks for the flashback! -PD Angel Gabriele 6/16/05 |

Mark Texiera Try Out Page Owner: Gary Hart Comment posted on 6/16/2005 Wow! I remember inking this page over 20 years ago....in our little studio at 76 Van Duzer Street on Staten Isle. A small group of us hung out, Mark, Javier Saltaries, Jimmy Janes, Denys Cowan and Lou Manna among others. Mark T was and is one heck of a pencil artist, and his paintings are fantastic also! It was a real pleasure and surprise to see it again, thanks-Pat "Angel" Gabriele-6/16/05 |
