Ray, you know how I hate to repeat myself. I did like the original concept but wanted more movement in the image above. By the way, the European crowd in Lisbon liked it too.
Grrreat! Really glad you guys are digging the new adventures of TARZAN! It really is a bargain for the asking price of only 1.99.
Thank you Tim and the rest. It would be greatly appreciated if you could support the strip to keep this kind of art alive for many years. In my honest opinion its some of the finest work being done in mainstream comics and something that I take great pride in too! At the end of one year we are to produce one years worth of material or 52 weeks in one bound volume or annual. All of this for only $1.99 a month???? Why not tell your friends who are on a steady diet of Marvel DC to try both Roy Thomas and My work out?!
and to think that all you guys liked was spandex (tm Dupont) clad superheroes:))) Thank you for the kind compliments.
Thank you Frank....wait till you see my work for ERB Inc. Me and Roy Thomas are working on their comicstrip at this moment:)
Hi E J, Well, I wish I could say yes, but not a word from them at all. I am putting together a lot of finished pieces all together for an upcoming art book of mine which will hopefully/finally be realized 2012. This image as well as many posted here will make it in the book. I hope you pick up a copy once its available:) have a great x-mas and new year too:))) Regards, Tom
Fabrice, I'll send you the original scan, the colors are so much better than this example, just that CAF & ebay will not allow anything past a few megabytes:)
Focke-Wulf Ta 183 Huckebein. This airframe though never to see actual combat did inspire to a lessor degree the classic Mig-15. After the war Russia took the plans which probably influenced there designers . I wanted to illustrate a story with Val attempting to stop AirBoy from stealing this for the alied forces. Might still happen... soon:)
Kevin, I am a huge airplane nut. I have a pile of AirForce books that I used for reference. The cockpit is cross blend of a couple planes, the A-10 and the F-16. Just changed the shape of a few instruments on the forward console and the added the side mounted hotas joy stick. The ejection seat is an Aces 2 zero-zero type commonly used in all AF equiptment this one has Wayne Enterprises logo stamped on the side of the chair. I'm such a nerd:)
EJ, Why don't you write to the folks at DH and tell them this. They really do not want my art since I sent them samples 7 years ago. Am I cursed in this industry or what?
Thanks Kirk! Its one of my favorites which I need to wrap a story idea around. If anyone has some cool scripts with O'Henry twist endings...drop me a line:)
Hi Kevin, Thanks again for the nice comments... (shameless plug) I am working on another AIRBOY cover which yet to be published but will be posted soon.
