- this is a very much needed picture. Why? Because it demonstrates what was normal some 60 years ago: children wearing long stockings and some device of suspenders/gartes like women. Smaller children had them fixed at a bodice, but from 12 or so onwards at a garter belt – as you show. In my gallery II add a series of drawings out of my remembrance of those years – to recall this old habit or fashion.
