I agree with you that there's a bit of a DWJ vibe to Maxi's style, but there's a lot more to his work than that. Love Maxi's fluid brush style, the way he manages to add lots of detail without getting overly detailed, if you know what I mean. Seeing Manhattan from this angle is lovely--So great that he managed to get the Empire State Building in! Spidey and MJ are drawn in a slightly more cartoony style than we're used to seeing, but I like it. Maxi captures both characters' personalities perfectly. What more can I say except I really want to get my own Maxi commission now! I totally agree - it's a combination of many things that really bring the life to this piece. Truly a favorite of mine. |
