Wow this is such an amazing page; I almost didn't see swampy for a second as I was so captivated by the detail. Then as the perspective shifts to reveal the full scene all I could think was "genius". This run has had a similar impact on me as it did to you from what I can interpret from the description. Major congrats on acquiring another amazing page!

This is such an amazing piece. I would of thought this was part of the canceled portfolio set, but this being a commission of sorts I feel makes it even more personal/special. I love the detail and realism he did with the stylization of this and the plates which are my faves from his later works. Major congrats on winning this! Truly a treasure.

I just went back and read your description/story of your Wrightson Swampy commission and enjoyed it very much as well (will be leaving a comment on it soon). Again, I thank you for all the kind words regarding the interview and I completely agree with all you mentioned regarding Mr. Wrightson and his work. He too is my favorite artist hands down for his art and my interaction with him left such a big impact on me and my love for this hobby and genre.

I actually just found out very recently that M'Nagalah made a future appearance; I was suprised. I only discovered while refreshing myself on this issue and then later stumbled on the info searching through a wiki. With that said Ive never read that Challengers issue and didn't know that Bernie came to ink that panel. Thats real awsome info; thank you so much for sharing!
Yeah it really was a shame when DC shut him down on some of his plans like I believe a Swampy portfolio set was one: which a lot of the illustrations that were to be a part of it were stunning.
Yes I can attest that he was a very kind gentleman, and very true about how humble he was from what I remember about our convo. Definitely my favorite interaction I've ever had with a creator.

Thank you so much! Definitely a one and done for me! Really loved this issue; it was when Bernie did an interview with me for a school project that I first learned learned each Swampy issue was playing with a certain horror arche-type and that this issue was inspired by Lovecraft.
