You are correct. I was going from my memory which is not always 100% reliable. In researching the subject further, Wikipedia has conflicting information that says he did interior artwork on the last six issues, while simultaneously saying he only did interiors work on issues 106 & 108. Thanks for the clarification! You have some beautiful artwork in your collection.
I understand your feeling that this might be by the hand of another artist. Your Gonzalez collection is indeed impressive. However, the Grand Comic Database gives art attribution to Pepe. And the title page of the actual published story has all artwork attributed to Jose Gonzalez (see my newly attached photos of real #82 Vampirella magazine). So direct proof has been offered here of the correct attribution. I have also looked at dozens of Gonzalez images and believe this is consistent with his style in 1979. If you have other evidence to the contrary, you should present it instead of making baseless accusations.
His layout, overall composition and his use of contrast by placing white figures on top of black ones is incredible. He is a true master of the comic artform. Congratulations.
Thanks! It cost me an arm and a leg, but hopefully I can die in peace now that I own this...
