This is a vellum page that was glued to an art page. At some point, I need to put up a scan of the page instead of a photo.
Thanks! I have had this page for awhile, I just never got around to posting it here.
Thank you! It is a page from the first comic book I ever purchased.
If you are a Micronauts fan, I have a nice Acroyear sketch as well.
Funny story with this one. Tony Moore was doing sketch card sized sketches at the Derby City Comic Con in 2013 to raise money for the Cincinnati Comic Convention. He was limiting character choices to Deadpool and Venom. His wife was taking the sketch orders and I told her anything but Deadpool (not a fan). What did I end up with, Deadpool. Oh well.
A lot of people like this one. The St . Louis Project Comic-Con "borrowed" this image and included it on the map of their convention floor for 2013.
Thank you. Monte Baldwin is a local artist, but he definitely has talent.
When I met Frachesco!, I had him sign a couple of Phantom comics he did the cover for. He told me a story about his first exposure to comics was the Phantom. So, after the story, I had to have him do a Phantom sketch.
I try to keep my sketches to just a handful at each con I attend. I generally get them done in a sketchbook, and have 2 or 3 sketches going at each con so I don't overextend myself.
Both Rom and the Micronauts were some of my favorites. This is from a local southern Illinois artist, Wil Woods. He definitely has a lot of talent.
Thank you! I was torn between Iron Man and Hawkeye when I requested this piece. I am happy with the results.
Thanks! Funny story. On comicbookdb.com they listed Brett Breeding as an inker for Avengers 184, which happened to be the first comic book I had ever purchased. I was going to have him sign it, but he said he didn't remember doing any of the inks in the book. He started flipping page by page and calling out the names of who had inked the page, even though they were uncredited. I was really blown away.
Yes it was. The Punisher sketch by Bill Rienhold, the Jon Snow sketch by Tommy Patterson and the Snake Eyes sketch by Larry Hama also came from 2012 Derby City comic Con. The Iron Man by Bob Hall is from the 2011 Derby City Comic Con. I am looking forward to 2013. Hopefully Tony Moore will be back this year.
